List of Notable X-Division Wrestlers[edit]

I added it back because because removing that entire section is one I think merits debate. The truth is none of the non-TNA companies have any national TV deals, so how is anyone outside the region to know about the NWA Wisconsin X Division wrestlers? That's why "Ruff Ryder Rashaan" isn't listed as a notable X-Division wrestler. I think that segment should stay as it's a helpful resource to note some X-Division stars. --TheTruthiness 18:34, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ok, but i have removed most of the recent storyline wrestlers... but the section is very flawed... i mean Kevin Nash is on their.. while Jerry Lynn isnt!?--- Paulley
if its TNA x division stars then why is it not just on the TNA x-division page cus this article concerns the divisions not TNA's stars --- Paulley
As the article says, the X Division is a wrestling style and is used in other promotions. But because nobody knows who Rob Eckos from NWA Shockwave is, he's not notable. --TheTruthiness 17:25, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes thats why the list is irrelevent to this article --- Paulley

Does TNA not have an X Division? This is about the X Division concept, which in itself is a pretty vague term- hence, it requires some examples. For examples one uses well-known ones for fairly obvious reasons. Let's say I was talking about dictators- would I say an example of a dictator was Baron Von Hugenstein of Tikiwallastan circa 200 BC? No, I'd use Hitler, Stalin, etc. BECAUSE PEOPLE KNOW WHO THEY ARE and thus can go "Oh, so that's what a dictator is!" instead of "Huh?". --TheTruthiness 02:31, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

alright then why are the likes of Alex Shelly and Kevin Nash being added.... i can under stand saying Jerry Lynn (who you didnt even origionally add) and A.J. Styles and C. Daniels as this should be concerning X-Division wrestlers that made the division what it is not who appeared on iMPACT! this week --- Paulley 10:34, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Correction- I'm not the one who started this list so don't blame me if wrestler x wasn't originally on it. It's a wiki, you have the power to edit- which you did to add Lynn. --TheTruthiness 17:13, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
True.. well ok then lets agree to make sure if this list remains here it only contains wrestlers that truly define the x-division (i think we wasted a large chunk of talk page to agree on the same thing, but hey..)--- Paulley

Why does the list of Notable X Division restlers just show the people who are still with TNA today? Where are Amazaing Red, Sonny Siaki, Shark Boy and others?

Criticism Section[edit]

I addded a criticism section because without one, this article is pov. It is a wide opinion around the Internet these days, especially among fans of true wrestling promotions such as WWE or RoH. 205.166.61.142 02:18, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • You need to learn what "POV" means. This article had a neutral point of view until your edits. Just because it doesn't contain a criticism section doen't mean it's biased. If the article said "The X Division is the most awesome improvement to wrestling ever and makes traditional wrestling totally boring" it would be NPOV. Your edits read like "Everbody who is an actual wrestling fan thinks the X Division sucks." Many "true wrestling" fans love the X Division, and your "true wrestling promotion" RoH actually has or had many X Division-type wrestlers like Daniels, AJ and Joe. --TheTruthiness 06:04, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nobody likes TNA except for its stupid marks. In RoH, spotfests are not the dominant match style, nor are they in WWE. Heck, WWE's even trying to get no talent hacks such as Sabu and Sandman to learn to wrestle. Just because you are a TNA mark doesn't mean that any more than maybe a 5% minority agrees with you and they aren't wrestling fans. Lucha Libre (same shit as X) is not wrestling, it is garbage. I'm working to make this article npov (which it isn't if it says that people watched WCW or ECW to see X Division). Just so you know, WCW drew shitty ratings except for 2 years when people tuned in to see Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and for all his faults, Hulk Hogan. ECW wasn't about jumping spotfests. ECW only had lucha libre for a few months. The primary ECW wrestlers have always been a combination of hardcore wrestlers (Cactus Jack, Hardcore Holly), big guys (Bam Bam Bigelow, Big Show), and technical wrestlers (Lance Storm, Kurt Angle). I can make POV statements on a talk page because that's where they are acceptable, however it is unacceptable to make pov statements such as that which make up the majority of this article. 205.166.61.142 21:51, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the Criticism section entirely. You'rte right that it's warranted in being there but its NOT warranted without any citations/sources, of which iit had none.BooyakaDell 05:02, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
i have placed it back in... as the part can be referenced have been tagged so that they infact can be.

While I think whoever started this whole criticism section crap is a complete know-nothing with his head stuck up.... a sewer pipe (if you get my metaphor), I do agree that this comment, "Its high-flying style had been one of the key reasons viewers tuned into the former-WCW and ECW promotion's cruiserweight divisions." isn't that neutral. Though I agree with it, it can't really be said as fact. 70.109.124.6 (talk) 22:26, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ownership of X-Division name?[edit]

does it belong to the NWA or TNA? or is it free for any promotion to use --99.101.160.159 (talk) 17:57, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

de-emphasized in 04 & 06[edit]

How was the X Division de-emphasized in 2004 and 2006? In fact, last I checked, it was highlighted with a World X Cup in both years. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dstebbins (talkcontribs) 23:45, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
