Father[edit]

Isn't Virgil his father? Shouldn't that be included?

Started the article[edit]

Well, I started the article. All that needs to be done is to find more information about him, summarize it, add an image, add his information in the infobox, add any other titles he has won that I missed, add the categories, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Myspace[edit]

Ok I found his MySpace, so far I haven't seen any impostor myspaces, but I messaged him, linked him to this article and asked if he could give me any information on himself, or if I could use one of his pictures in the article. I'm awaiting a reply. Tyler Warren (talk/contribs) 16:35, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any source for the statement that his match against Booker T was ever billed as a "World Title" match? I watched this episode and I can't remember any reference to anyone, even Booker T, calling this a title match. (Though they never explained why Booker had the right to book a match against anyone he wanted.) If this can't be verified with a source, I believe it should be removed. 70.177.83.181 (talk) 04:12, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Finisher/Signature Moves[edit]

Ok I watched some Youtube vids of Austin and he uses the Tequila Sunrise like Konnan uses. He also did a move where he did the splits, then delivered an exaggerated "The Rock" style punch.

Ok so we know the Monte Fisto is the move where he does the splits and delivers a left hook. But he also did the rolling thunder lariat (which I mislabelled as the Tequila Sunrise) Tyler Warren (talk/contribs) 20:33, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Austin Watson or Consequences Creed[edit]

I say he should be moved to his real name or most common name seeing how Creed is not his name

Requested move[edit]

Resolved

I think it should be moved to Austin Watson or Consequences Creed. Either one, since he is probably more known as Consequences Creed now since he went to TNA and couldn't have been a big name on the indy circuit since he is only 21. Plus Austin Watson was proven true on Impact when they showed a newspaper with his name on it.--WillC 21:14, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    • Okay, then I'll move it, 5 to 0.--WillC 03:26, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
 Done

Unreliable Source[edit]

Why is the statement "His wrestling persona is based on Apollo Creed from the Rocky movie series" marked as an unreliable source? One, just LOOK at him and the way he dresses. I guess it's just coincidence? And conincidence too that he has "Creed" in his name and wears boxing gloves? Also under career in the second section, it states "While in the Greenville, South Carolina-based World Wrestling Council, run by former NWA professional wrestler Brodie Ray Chase, he developed his current ring persona based heavily on the character Apollo Creed from the Rocky series" complete with reference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.176.93.74 (talk) 19:03, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cagematch.de is the unreliable source, not the statement. I've changed the source cited, now it's fine.TheFBH (talk) 19:13, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Team Pacman[edit]

Nearly everything I've seen cites Creed as a member of Team Pacman and co-holder of the TNA Tag Team titles under the Freebird rule. Why is this not acknowledged in the title history? 99.21.89.71 (talk) 05:17, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Xavier Woods[edit]

In light of his recent main roster television debut, I suggest this article move to Xavier Woods over Consequences Creed. He's been performing under that name for some years now in a more widely viewed organization; I'd suggest he's more well known under this moniker than his others. 76.186.36.244 (talk) 08:18, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I decided to be bold and make this move. His debut on Raw last night should seal the issue on this for the foreseeable future. Thargor Orlando (talk) 23:13, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Consequences CreedXavier Woods – This is his common, professional name and has been for some time. He debuted this past Monday and searches will be for this name, not Consequences Creed. Thargor Orlando (talk) 18:20, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, for now. He's done more on the big scene as Creed, so this name would be more generally recognizable (not just to people actively watching WWE). A redirect is in place for those seeking "Xavier Woods", just like Scotty Goldman and Braden Walker. Not suggesting his WWE tenure will be as short, but we don't know yet. • Oppose per Hulk. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 21:47, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, for now, for all of the reasons Hulk stated.LM2000 (talk) 04:30, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - Hulk basically stated the reason I reverted the move in the first place. He has achieved decent success under his previous ring name, at the point much more than his current. That can change down the line, but right now his WP:COMMONNAME is Consequences Creed.STATic message me! 07:14, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - more success in TNA, 2 times tag champion, multiple X Division title shots. He's had just one match on the main roster in WWE. In the developmental territories of WWE, he's had 1 tag reign in FCW, no singles title shots in FCW, and no title shots at all in NXT. I will be much more willing to consider the move once he wins any title on the WWE main roster. Also as of now, he's had more TV/PPV matches (and also overall matches) in TNA versus WWE, even if we count WWE's developmental territories. Starship.paint (talk) 07:42, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. While he had a two year plus televised run in TNA as "Consequences Creed", he's now been performing for WWE as "Xavier Woods" for over three years. He's appeared on WWE programming for the last year, as well as receiving publicity via the WWE website. Appearing on NXT doesn't necessarily represent less exposure than appearing on Impact simply because it's a developmental territory. McPhail (talk) 19:11, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

People understand that more people watched Raw on Monday night than perhaps have ever seen a minute of TNA, right? Thargor Orlando (talk) 12:58, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Source? Starship.paint (talk) 07:34, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also compare google hits between "Consequences Creed" and "Xavier Woods." Woods is in almost a 2 to 1 lead. Thargor Orlando (talk) 15:35, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Problem. Isn't the common name. As Creed, Watson wrestled for 3 years in national tv, PPVs and won a championship. As Woods, he wrestled only one week in National TV. Tomorrow he can be fired, or WWE can change his name. Today, isn't an established common name. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 23:19, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that it is the common name. He's been wresting as Xavier Woods for years now in WWE developmental. The Google hits tell the story about what the "common name" is. This is really a ridiculous discussion to be having. Per WP:COMMONNAME: "Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title; it prefers to use the name that is most frequently used to refer to the subject in English-language reliable sources. This includes usage in the sources used as references for the article. If the name of a person, group, object, or other article topic changes, then more weight should be given to the name used in reliable sources published after the name change than in those before the change... Thargor Orlando (talk) 01:02, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's the current name, not common name. For years, Watson wrestled as Creed. Now, he wrestled as Woods in a minor promotion without national tv program. One week isn't enough to made the current name common name. Tomorrow, Watson will be fired. Woods still the common name, with one match in raw? --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 15:25, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's the current and common name. NXT has national programming on Hulu as well as on cable in the UK. It's not one week, it's three years. We may even be at the point where he's wrestled longer under Woods than Creed. If he's fired tomorrow, we can move it back to whatever common name makes sense. Right now, all evidence (literally all of it) suggests this page should be at Woods. Thargor Orlando (talk) 16:25, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The common name doesn't change when Wtason is fired. Watson is in WWE, Woods is the common name, if he is fired, back to creed... no. He spent 3 years in the second major promotion on USA, with national TV in USA, Australia, UK and many others. NXT was a minor promotion, a farm territory. Woods is the current name and the recent name, but he had more success and exposure as Creed for three years. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 17:05, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
NXT is like the AAA of pro-wrestling, arguably a bigger draw than TNA. Do you have evidence that he had more success and exposure as Creed? You're not providing it, and Google suggests the opposite. Thargor Orlando (talk) 18:31, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you are talking about success and exposure...
  • 117 matches in TNA as Creed including house shows, 52 on TV/PPV, 2 tag title reigns, multiple X Division title shots.
  • 69 matches in FCW including house shows, 31 on FCW TV, 1 tag title reign, never had a singles title shot whether FCW Heavyweight or FCW 15
  • 32 matches in WWE (including NXT and house shows), 8 on NXT and 1 on Raw, no titles nor title shots at all.
It's pretty obvious to me he had more success and exposure in TNA. You can add the FCW and WWE together and it's still less than TNA. Never being a singles title contender ever in WWE/NXT/FCW is quite telling, and how can the FCW tag title compare to TNA's tag title? We have to be clear that TNA is the #2 national promotion in the US but FCW/NXT is the developmental territory. By definition, FCW/NXT is the "minor league". Though I do admit, Google is on Woods' side, with 64 results on Google News for Woods versus 11 on Creed. It would clearer once Woods wins any championship in WWE (not NXT). Following this up[edit]

For those who were opposed to the move, what needs to happen to have this move occur at this point? It would be good to have some sort of bright line so we're not revisiting this every week. Thargor Orlando (talk) 01:19, 29 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt that there can be any clear bright line but I would suggest waiting to see if he has any significant feuds, wins major titles, stayed on TV under his Woods name. I would also wait a few months for the current character to build up.--174.93.163.194 (talk) 00:16, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I did mention above that I would support once Woods won any title on the main roster. If Woods does not win any titles, based on exposure, I'm going to discount FCW TV as a minor television program which did not have the outreach of NXT, so Creed had 52 TV/PPV matches in TNA, once the number of WWE (including NXT) TV/PPV matches exceeds 52, bingo. He's at 15 now. edited: I reconsidered that WWE easily has more than twice the viewership compared to TNA, so how about, once Woods' main roster TV/PPV matches exceeds 26 (half of his TNA's). He has 7 now. Starship.paint (talk) 12:31, 18 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Moved[edit]

I see that Vantaliosun has WP:BOLDLY moved the article. Woods' TV/PPV main roster matches are actually at 24 now and seven months, but ah heck, I'm not going to move it back, it's close enough to 26. Notifying [{U|Thargor Orlando}}. starship.paint "YES!" 13:28, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No lie, seeing him on TV this week made me look back into it, he's actually at 26, and that doesn't count non-match appearances, such as run-ins and commentary. Was considering bringing it back up, hopefully this can just be allowed to stick this time. Thargor Orlando (talk) 15:29, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, he's spent plenty of time on the main WWE roster at this point. Combined with NXT, it's almost certainly more exposure than he got in TNA. I don't see the need for a move back to Consequences.LM2000 (talk) 21:34, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the Master's Degree?[edit]

Is there another source for "Later that year, he began studying psychology and philosophy at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. He graduated with a master's degree in psychology and a bachelor's degree in philosophy?" I see his old Myspace page, but it lists both majors at Furman as Bachelor's in Psychology and Philosophy. Furthermore Furman only offers master's degrees in Chemistry and Education. So either the master's degree is from another school or the psychology was accidentally changed.Nikpack (talk) 01:30, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
