WP:NOPRICES.

I stand corrected, but it might be an idea to mention that the MT-09 is expected to be successful partly because it is is very affordable. I think this is an important point to make as, historically, Yamaha have tended (in the UK at least) to overprice some models. The Yamaha TRX850 is a classic example of a good bike that didn't sell because of its artificially high price. I'm not sure how to put this point into the article without breaching WP:NOPRICES rules. MT-09 vs FZ-09

Im trying to get this corrected this article should be FZ-09 and not redirected to the MT-09. My edits were all changes and thats fine Im here to defend myself[User:Jdavis1130|Jdavis1130]] (talk) 08:11, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Also, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles/Conventions#Titles: "Each article shall be titled with the model name used in the subject vehicle's home market, unless a single name other than the home-market name is used in English-speaking markets, and the home market is not English-speaking. In such cases, the article shall be titled with the model name used in English-speaking markets." It's called MT-09 in Japan[23], and targeted at Europe[24]. And it appears to have been first introduced in Croatia. I don't see how it's a US-market bike in any way. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 15:17, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Agree with Dennis Bratland here. One of the references used is talking about the MT-09 as sold in Europe and also goes onto say that the American press release was going to three months after the story was published. I am trying at least defend my changes The MT-09 is a Europe bike, but unlike the FZ-09 (the name for the MT-09 in the US and Canada) that is in Europe the MT-09 model has 3 sub models the MT-09 (regular) the MT-09 Sport Tracker, The MT-09 Street Rally and the MT-09 Tracer. The none of these bikes are in the United States nor Canada except for the Tracer which is the FJ-09. I need help getting this corrected and edited. None of these bikes are available in the United States. The FZ-09 is different than even the regular MT-09 is a series of bikes in the UK, Europe Japan and Australia. The FZ-09 which is UK & Canada which is limited to the US & Canada has one model just the FZ-09 the two are different not the same bike. You can't even buy parts off a Street Rally and put it on a FZ-09 Yamaha won't allow it.

I have had a look at the FZ07.org forums and general consensus on there is that the FZ and MT models only have minor differences ie decals and different indicator bulbs. As for the MT/FZ-09 there is a Visordown article that says there are only a few minor differences. I encountered this sort of regional difference when I rewrote the Honda CB400T. It happened 40 years ago and has been the same ever since, different names for the same model in different markets. As for the FZ vs MT name, I again think Dennis Bratland's previous reply satisfies the reason the name should stay as is. MAbbey (talk) 14:31, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

I have created an Yamaha FJ-09 redirect to the relevant section in this article. The fact there are two sub models under the MT-09 moniker just gives further reason why it should remain MT-09. MAbbey (talk) 15:37, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
