Parody?[edit]

I added the following sentences to the article: He said in a Rolling Stone interview that he used the humorous title as something of a defense mechanism, so that if anyone criticized the song, he could write it off as a parody. Aside from that, he claimed to be serious about the content of the song.

This is 100 percent true, and the source is the Rolling Stone interviews that are available on I-Tunes. Unfortunately, I cannot find a textual source for this, and do not know how to cite it, but I felt it was important content and added it and put "citation needed." If someone else knows of an appropriate way to cite it, please do so and/or let me know. andrewlargemanjones —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.230.35.144 (talk) 05:28, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:The White Album.jpg[edit]

Image:The White Album.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Contradiction[edit]

In the overview section, it starts off by saying that it was intended as a parody, and two sentences later, it says it was serious. Both are unsourced. Which is it? Zazaban (talk) 21:44, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is a parody of Hank William's "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry". Unlike traditional blues it is in a waltz tempo as is William's. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.115.102.245 (talk) 01:07, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Eric Clapton[edit]

During the sessions on "The Beatles" (white album) in 1968, a version with Eric Clapton on lead guitar (ans Lennon only on vocals) was recorded. It has only been released trough bootlegs only. Though I've heard it. Saemikneu (talk) 00:28, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Only Beatles song Clapton EVER played on with them in the Studio was While my Guitar gently Weeps, only times he played Yer BLues he was with John solo, the stones circus and the toronto revival concert. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.196.250.184 (talk) 11:32, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
