New Synopsis[edit]

The previous synopsis was mostly breathy promotional stuff taken from the DVD package. I've written an actual synopsis of the film which, hopefully, doesn't sound so promotional. Have at it, fellow editors! BehroozZ 06:05, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Meter[edit]

I keep seeing the meter in "Yes" as being iambic pentameter, but my reaction at the time was that it was something else with less syllables, more like Dr Seuss used (which looking it up now is called 'anapestic tetrameter'). I'll have to see the movie again, but is this just my imagination? I've read an interview with Sally Potter where iambic pentameter was referred to, and she didn't say "no", but... maybe she's just tired of explaining?

Quickly reading a couple of excerpts of the screenplay:

HE:
And let me add: I'd like to steal
You from the man who cannot see
That you're a queen. When are you free?

SHE:
My God, you're fast.

HE:
Oh no, quite slow.
