Should reference be deleted or replaced?[edit]

Tango Mike Bravo. Good catch. As far as I can tell, "The Latest" functions like a live blog and aggregates relevant news stories from the current day or week. I am confident that there was a blurb in "The Latest" about Pittman's new role, but the website has since updated to include other stories. KidAd talk 19:13, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnicity?[edit]

Is there any reliable reporting on Yogananda Pittman's ethnicity? If not I suggest that we should remove this page from WikiProject African diaspora and remove Category:African-American police officers.Tango Mike Bravo (talk) 18:47, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:BLPRS have removed WikiProject African diaspora. Similarly I will shortly remove Caterogy:African-American police officers from the article itself. Have found a reference^[1] and have reverted my previous edits.

More references[edit]

During the recent deletion discussion I found more references covering Pittman's actions as Acting Chief. For example on 18 Jan by CNBC,^[2] on 19 Jan by Politico,^[1] on 22 Jan by wtopnews,^[3] on 26 Jan by People and CNN,^[4]^[5] and on 29 Jan by The Week.^[6]

Participation in Capitol Riot[edit]

Is there any reference to her being among the officers who defended the Capitol during the 2021 storming of the United States Capitol? If so, to what extent should it be mentioned in the article and should she be mentioned in articles relating to it? Painting17 (talk) 14:09, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

She has been accused of withholding an intelligence report about how large the protest on Jan 6 would be. By Lt. Tarik Johnson, an officer in the Capitol Police. He blames her for the lack of preparedness that day. 2601:600:9080:22A0:4DED:ACA5:B42F:38D9 (talk) 03:09, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New Chief of Police[edit]

Today I reverted an edit that Pittman has been replaced as Chief of Police by J. Thomas Manger. However the reports I have seen ^[1]^[2]^[3] only state that "Former Maryland Police Chief J. Thomas Manger [has been] named as the next chief of the U.S. Capitol Police". None of them state when his appointment will start. In addition the US Capitol Police website still lists Pittman as Acting Chief.^[4]

This is not to say that at some time in the near future Pittman will be replace, but I think it is too soon to be able to say that it has happened already. Tango Mike Bravo (talk) 11:25, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
