Can anyone give background about the Youngs in the Bogside, Derry that are related to John Pius Young (Bloody Sunday Martyr)? Just curious...

Etymology[edit]

"this particular surname usually originated to distinguish a younger son", on a first reading, makes no sense. As a given name certainly, but surnames apply to all one's children, from eldest to youngest. Doug butler (talk) 20:45, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
