The Book of Night and Moon[edit]

I removed the section on the book of night and moon, because it is a fairly small part of the series as a whole, and the section mainly serves as a summary of So You Want to Be a Wizard.

Just for the record, it's The Book of Night with Moon.--Thnidu (talk) 01:20, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Temporal Setting[edit]

Unless I'm mistaken, wasn't the scene where Dairine's father said, "She's only eleven!" him reminiscing of when she first became a wizard and how much responsibility and danger was thrust on her at that age, rather than him stating her actual age at that moment in time? 71.35.208.89 (talk) 22:35, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rolan[edit]

I moved Rolan to the main character because he plays a major part in two books and other character that share the same significance are placed in that location. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lord Airen (talkcontribs) 17:39, 5 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I reshuffled the character list because the major/minor character distinction was fairly arbitrary - I think this is a better representation of the role of each character. However it does make the article kind of clunky - is it appropriate to include so many characters in the main series article anyway? --Labellementeuse 00:27, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chao (The Transcendent Pig)[edit]

The page says that the Pig

has been called Chao, but it is unclear if that is a personal name or merely an epithet, as Chao is a Chinese word for pig.

Is that attested in the books? Google Translate gives 猪 zhū (Mandarin, simplified script), which is distinct from chao and zhao (described as "an alternative spelling of Chao"). My personal opinion is that it's just as likely to be an allusion to chaos and the Pig's somewhat Discordian-like tendency not to seem to take things seriously. --Thnidu (talk) 05:16, 6 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone more familiar with the series than I care to add it to this list?[edit]

Types of mythological or fantastic beings in contemporary fiction is a page of, well, fantasy series (movie, TV, written, whatever) and the assorted mythological and/or fantastic critters they contain. This series would qualify. Anyone care to add it? Tamtrible (talk) 01:34, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That page has been deleted as of 20 September 2017, with the annotation
The result was delete. The argument that this content is WP:OR is compelling, and not successfully rebutted. Creating a similar article that is based on reliable sources is however possible."

Character names[edit]

Does anyone else think it's a bit repetitive to have the character names as subsection headings, followed immediately by the same name in bold? Legowerewolf (talk) 19:03, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
