Saravanan K (talk) 14:09, 10 March 2010 (UTC) respected sir/madam,[reply]

i am just a student doing my higher secondary education in India and i do not work for any profitable organization and as such the laws of the country does not allow me to do so and i am not promoting any product or entity. I have just mentioned what is happening in a school in madurai which is very eager to bring the interest of politics in young minds and this does not deal with any promotion and if you consider it as any promotion, i bet it, its only for the development of a nation and if you still object the very survival of this page i can obviously tell that "wikipedia" is merely not a supporter of patriotic views and if you still object this issue i have decided to send this issue to the media who are always ready to blow up a small thing, i am not threatening and this is a very simple issue. Whats your call ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Capt.saravanan (talkcontribs) 14:09, 10 March 2010

You are absolutely correct. Wikipedia is certainly not a supporter of patriotic views. In fact, we insist that all articles remain carefully neutral and balanced. Instead of becoming angry, please try to understand the problems with this page. An article on "Youth in Indian Politics" is welcome and useful, as long as that is really what the article is about. Make sure that the body of the article matches the topic of the article -- that's the main problem here. --Rlandmann (talk) 14:21, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If "This is a patriotic article which has the potential to change the face of Indian politics" does not indicate that the article is promoting a cause then I don't know what would be. Whether or not what is being promted is a "profitable organization" is irrelevant: it is promoting a point of view. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:37, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Saravanan K (talk) 15:15, 10 March 2010 (UTC) k...now what you tell is acceptable...what are the bodies in the article are to be removed and which are not carefully neutral and not balanced..if you tell me the areas which have to be corrected, i will do the same, sorry for being so rude ![reply]

Saravanan K (talk) 15:17, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

@ Mr.James Watson

it is which i have to delete and thanks for reminding me !

Saravanan K (talk) 15:22, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have possibly edited the article in a way that it informs the viewers that this kind of a movement is undertaken by the school students and it purely does not promote any cause. It is kind of encyclopedic information for the viewers to become aware of the incidents happening everywhere, which is i hope the motive of the "wikipedia"

Thanks for your understanding. The biggest problem is that although this claims to be an article about "Youth in Indian Politics", some of the article is about a completely different topic -- TVSMHSS school. We already have an article on that school, so the information does not need to get repeated here. This would be like having an article titled "Indian Food", but instead of telling the reader about Indian food, the article really only describes one Indian restaurant somewhere.
As a start, you should remove the sections "About the school" and "The Quality Circle". That information is relevant on the TVSMHSS school article, but not here. --Rlandmann (talk) 15:29, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Saravanan K (talk) 15:58, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

yes and i will do the same...but is that possible to tell that the school has undertaken such an initiative to bring up the minds of students to participate in politics rather than just engineering and medicine ?

Thanks! But it's not really relevant to your subject to talk about what one individual school is doing. I'm sure that there are thousands, maybe tens of thousands of schools in India, just like there are tens of thousands of Indian restaurants around the world, and what happens in one restaurant is not really relevant to an article on Indian Food. If you remove the sentence "An initiative of Developing Political Interest among the young students of India has been undertaken by a group of students from the TVSMHSS School, Madurai, South of INDIA. This is a reputed school in Madurai and is well known for its Quality Circle Initiatives." I will be happy to remove the deletion tag from the article and then we can look for ways to improve it further. I repeat that this is a worthwhile topic for Wikipedia to cover, as long as we're describing the actual topic and not giving the article one title and then really describing something else... --Rlandmann (talk) 16:06, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Saravanan K (talk) 16:32, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

k...done and i will do what you tell....!

Saravanan K (talk) 16:41, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

and sorry for being so rude and i didn't know the policies of wikipedia and even though i was instructed to read the policies i hesitated....but now i regret the decision, and i am sure that i will give no trouble !

and this is my first article...sorry for the trouble...and you told me that you will remove the delete tag if i remove that particular line...now will you ?

Thank you! I've removed the tag, and tidied up the layout a little bit (you can see that I didn't remove any text), but I:
  • Moved the photo to make it neater on the page, and moved the caption into the photo frame itself
  • Fixed the links -- to link to another wiki page, you just need to type [[India]] to link to India. You don't need to copy and paste the whole address of the page
  • Added a category (Category:Politics of India).
What the article needs now is more general information about how young people in India get involved with politics. This information should come from books, magazines, and newspapers, and when you insert it into the Wikipedia article, you need to say where the information came from. Maybe one of your teachers or school librarian could help you find information on this topic? --Rlandmann (talk) 16:44, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Saravanan K (talk) 16:45, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

but am i allowed to tell "how one should get involved in india politics" or should i tell only about "how they are involved presently" ?

now are you going to approve my article or still you want more ?

Sorry -- my last message was worded poorly. I meant "how" in the sense of "In what ways young people in india get involved with politics" -- not "what they should do to become involved". This is an encyclopedia -- it describes what an aeroplane is, but it doesn't tell you how to become a pilot. So what we need is "how they are involved presently". I apologize for my poor writing.
Nobody "approves" articles on Wikipedia; if you don't want to do anything more with this article, you can stop working on it now. I just thought you were interested in making it better. If not, that's OK too. --Rlandmann (talk) 17:01, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Saravanan K (talk) 16:53, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

why is not the article appearing in google searchs...usually wikipedia articles appear in the first page of the googled page...is there any credits or which the quality of the page increases so that the page appears in google ?

I think you don't understand how Google works; it can take some time for an article to get listed by Google; usually a day or two; but sometimes weeks. --Rlandmann (talk) 17:01, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
PS -- it's more usual to "sign" your messages by typing ~~~~ at the end of the message; putting it on a separate line above the message is confusing :) \

Saravanan K (talk) 17:05, 10 March 2010 (UTC) yeah i will do the same, i am just a beginner and i will learn quickly as i do usually and wikipedia is so simple unlike "HTML"...so simple tags and other things ![reply]
