Donner lake is not part of the Yuba River Drainage. It flows to the Truckee River. The Headwaters start at Donner Pass and Flow into Lake Spaulding.

Article needs clarification[edit]

The forks do not "start" at the dams, the dams inbound the water of the forks of the Yuba.

Ok for me to change this wording ? Marcia Wright (talk) 17:32, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. This article needs to be expanded anyway. We could say that the fork begins in the mountains above the reservoir, and/or specifically stating which ridge the water is running off. Either way, the passages could use some clarification. --travisthurston+ 21:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know for sure, but it's possible that the actual start of the fork was where two feeder creaks came together under where the lake is now? ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 01:27, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
