Loopy[edit]

Why is there no mention about how crazy Hatoyama is? There is no mention of his nickname, "the alien," which is used by his opponents, his supporters, and himself. (He uses it himself to appear as an outsider to the political system.) Source: Japan Times (Japan's biggest English language newspaper) http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nn20090917f1.html

There is no mention about his... bizarre fashion sense.

These are the primary things that he is known for in Japan, so it is quite unfitting that his page does not have this.

Additionally, this page is not the first for a search for, "Hatoyama," which is strange seeing as how he is the PM of the nation with the 2nd largest GDP in the world, much better known than any of the others (at least he's the only one that I've ever heard of, or should have heard of).

Sanitized[edit]

This is one of the most "sanitized" articles about a public figure that I've seen on Wikipedia, almost certainly curated by the subject or his supporters. Hatoyama is widely viewed as an abject failure and even a buffoonish figure, especially after his fall. His tenure as PM was filled with gaffes, constant crisis, and worsening relations with the United States, which reached a crisis point when President Obama bluntly asked him in front of cameras, "Can we trust you?", a shock in Japan that sealed Hatoyama's political doom instantly. The whole thing is fantasy. I agree, I don't think I have noticed anything on wikipedia that is as wrong as this hagiography. Hatoyama was an utter failure and the very things that led to his total collapse--the pathetic visit to China, the disaster with Obama and attempt to change the alliance, etc.--are touted in this article as "achievements." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.252.4.22 (talk) 07:55, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
