2012 World Champion?[edit]

It was noticeable on official coverage during this year's World Championship that Yuuya was referred to as the 2012 World Champion several times. Can we consider him to have been retconned, in a way, as the 2012 World Champion? Here is an example where he quite obviously is being referred to as the 2012 World Champion. I certainly agree with you on this one, however, I am not quite sure which Wikipedia rules apply. The retcon concept that you mention seems to be about fictional work, although it is not a policy article anyway. Wouldn't it be best to generally call him 2012 World Champion, and make clarify (where relevant) that the title was originally called Players Championship? Indeed. I ultimately decided against using the word "retcon", since although coverage reporters have used that word to describe the situation, it does not fit the Wikipedia definition. I have incorporated him being a World Champion into the article, and I think notes should be used to explain the Players Championship thing. Hahahopp (talk) 17:14, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
