Other branches of the Z8 architecture[edit]

Between the classic Z8 and the Z8 Encore, there were also the "Z8 Plus" and "Super8". It would be nice to have more details of the history on the main page. Samsung second-sourced some of these as the SAM8, SAM8X, etc. --Brouhaha (talk) 02:06, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(Dis)similarity to Microchip PIC[edit]

Having written much code for the Zilog Z8 and Super8, and some for the Microchip PIC, I do not believe that it is accurate to say that these Zilog processors are similar to the PIC. The Z8 and Super8 are fairly conventional processors for their time (although with such large register sets that we were able to omit any external RAM), while the PICs are little tiny RISC machines. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.160.250.253 (talk) 17:03, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Advantages and disadvantages of z8encore 640[edit]

This comment was in the intro section so I moved it to its own section. I assume the original editor wanted to see the advantages and disadvantages of Z8encore 640. § Music Sorter § (talk) 22:35, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
