Belgium national football team[edit]

  • Comment: Nominator has less then 5 DYK credits, exempt from needing to do a review before nominating
  • Comment: With over 230 million speakers of American English among +/- 360 million native English speakers, maybe it is better to write "Belgium national football (soccer) team". As women's football emerges, perhaps it should even be "Belgium national men's football (soccer) team" - but that starts getting long. Kareldorado (talk) 18:15, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
    • In that case I prefer the term "association football" or the unambiguous "soccer" instead. I do not like a bracket construction. - Taketa (talk) 08:04, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
      • Ok, good point. Since association football is more popular in countries where British English is spoken I would prefer the general term "association football". Kareldorado (talk) 10:29, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Improved to Good Article status by Kareldorado (talk) and Deus Ex (talk). Nominated by Taketa (talk) at 07:20, 1 September 2015 (UTC).

  • Interesting hook. I'm sure it will be a hit (although I'm a HUGE France fan). As for the article, it did receive GA status on 31 August so its new enough. The hook is cited with ref #113. Made some copyedits to the hook as well. AGF on the foreign language sources. Good to go! Étienne Dolet (talk) 08:09, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the comment. Of course, other hooks were possible as well here. Let's hope that soon many NFT articles grow towards GA (or even FA)! There was already enough to tell about this country team of a fairly tiny footballing nation, so I assume the same must be true for many other NFT articles.
