  • A few issues here:
  • The hook isn't written in a very encyclopedic fashion; I would suggest using as an alternative:
ALT1: ... that Chinese softshell turtles urinate using their mouths?
  • Many statements in the article are unsourced. This includes the entirety of the "Appearance", "Diet", "Reproduction" and "Turtles as human food" sections, and substantial portions of "Habitat" and "Animal husbandry". Prioryman (talk) 12:07, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
  • I initially had the same thought about the hook's wording, but it's problematical. The source says that "it's not technically urination". That source's headline says "Turtles Urinate Via Their Mouths", but that's apparently an imprecise simplification. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 00:35, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
  • How does this look now? I have rearranged the article to reflect the guidelines on the Turtle Portal and I think the hook is a bit more encyclopedic now thanks to everyone who worked on it! I am still looking for a few sources on some of the older material. Any help would be appreciated - the unsourced items are listed on the talk page. Teresa J.   • It looks much better now. The sourcing appears to have been resolved. I've made a couple of minor tweaks to the text but otherwise it looks fine. Could you please confirm a point about the proposed hook though – is it accurate to describe the excretory process in this case as "urination"? Prioryman (talk) 23:01, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
  • I believe it is accurate. I linked urinate to the animals section of the wiki article on urination and I think it makes the case for calling the elimination of urea urination.Teresa J. Mayfield (talk) 04:16, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
