Death and state funeral of Raúl Alfonsín[edit]

  • The hook's content was already featured In the news with parent article as the target; at least the article is still newly created. Do you have alternative proposals? I have trouble picking one. George Ho (talk) 18:23, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
  • The hook was different (check here), and we are talking about an "In the news" entry of six years ago. There is absolutely no overlap. There may be if it was something being featured right now, or some weeks ago; but not at this point. --Cambalachero (talk) 20:03, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
  • Also, the hook itself wasn't that interesting or intriguing. Do you think readers will be intrigued by a mere date reference? George Ho (talk) 20:11, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
  • I haven't check the sources, but how about:
  • ALT2 ... that after the death of Argentine president Raúl Alfonsín (pictured), hundreds of people held a candlelight vigil outside of his house?
  • ALT3 ... that after the death of President Raúl Alfonsín (pictured), he was praised as "the main actor of the return of democracy to Argentina"? MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 02:19, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
  • ALT2 is better than the 3, as he was already recognized that way before his death, but the hook may be misunderstood as if his death caused a turning point in his public perception. The quotes cited are just the ones made at the moment, when other prominent politicians were asked for some words about the just deceased Alfonsín. Besides, "death of Argentine president Raúl Alfonsín" is very long, it may be better to pipelink just "death", and link Raúl Alfonsín as a common and non-bolded link. Cambalachero (talk) 18:39, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
  • I don't see how ALT3 could be interpreted that way, but we can see what the reviewer says. I linked "death of Argentine president Raúl Alfonsín" in hopes of generating more clicks on the DYK article, because the other way, lots of clicks will be siphoned off to "Raúl Alfonsín", but since you prefer it the other way, I've changed it to your desired format in both of the hooks I suggested. Alt2 only without image Spanish sources. Article is of a good length and is well cited. Image is free but is not in the article. Paraphrasing is AGF. Neutral. Age is new. GTG — Preceding unsigned comment added by Victuallers (talkcontribs) 21:55, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
