Gudy Gaskill[edit]

The Colorado Trail
The Colorado Trail
  • ... that Gudy Gaskill, the driving force behind the creation of the 567-mile (912 km) Colorado Trail (map pictured), was honored by Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush for her volunteerism? Source: "President Ronald Reagan honored Gaskill as part of his 'Take Pride In America' campaign. President George H. W. Bush included her in his 'One Thousand Points of Light' program'." (The Denver Post)

  • Hi Yoninah, review follows: article created 3 January; article exceeds minimum length; article is well written and cited throughout to reliable sources; no copyright violation or overly close paraphrasing noticed; hook is interesting and just short enough (I count it at exactly 200 characters); hook fact checks out to newspaper source and is cited in the article; QPQ has been done; image is suitably licensed at Commons. Think this one is good to go - Dumelow (talk) 22:02, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
  • @Dumelow: thanks for the review. The words (map pictured) don't count; it's only 180 characters. Yoninah (talk) 22:10, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. I had forgotten about the pictured. I see the supplementary guidelines are out of step if this is the consensus position "E5: Do the 11 characters in " (pictured)" or the 27 characters in " (specific object pictured)" (i.e. including an introductory space) count towards the 200 character limit?". I seem to recall debate over this from the time of my first DYKs (2008-9?). Anyhow, the hook is good. Nice article by he way! - Dumelow (talk) 22:24, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
