  • Comment Talking about attractive, pardon me for piping the links Mozart in the hooks, but I think redirected links are so unseemly on the main page. w.carter-Talk 21:02, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
  • New enough, long enough, adequately referenced. I wouldn't say it's neutrally written, though; there are a few unsourced, breathless descriptions extolling the musician: "one of the finest virtuosos of his day"; "Wendling was renowned for his virtuosity and for his expressive playing". Regarding the hook, the citation for the hook fact doesn't mention anything about a solo flute part and the hook (and article) assumes more than the source provides:
  • Hook: ... that Mozart is thought to have written the solo flute part of his Sinfonia concertante K.Anh.9/297b for Johann Baptist Wendling?
  • Source: Mozart had already written a Sinfonia concertante for the Mannheim wind players' visit to Paris in 1778 (unperformed and lost; but see K297b)
  • That'll be because I didn't realise the source was online and AGFed what was in the article was accurate.... as you've spotted, it isn't. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:06, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
  • Other issues: It would help if the Sources section were alphabetized. The only cite under Works is more of a note; perhaps you could provide a source for the list of works? Thank you, Yoninah (talk) 20:26, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

  • I'd completely forgotten about this - the article's creator hasn't been on since 21 March so it might be simpler just to close it. Unless @Gerda Arendt: can think of something, I can't see anything else particularly "hooky" in the article as it stands. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 05:46, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Added a detail from an online source which I think shows the intimate "family" relations:
ALT2: ... that Mozart composed an obbligato part for the flute of Johann Baptist Wendling (pictured) in an aria of his Idomeneo sung by Wendling's wife?
Wendlings works can be seen in the IMSLP (first external link).
