Serial rapist[edit]

  • ... that serial rapists are more likely to 'ambush' their victim than single-victim rapists?
  • ALT1:... that serial rapists are more likely to be a stranger to the victim than single-victim rapists?
  • Comment: this is a creepy topic for me, but the information is valuable as a Women's health related article.

  • I've removed obvious SYNTH and OR, but I'm afraid this article has some lingering problems e.g. at least some of what it says applies to rapes in general, not specifically to the topic, but it's stated as if it's specific. EEng 23:16, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
There is much overlap in the prevention of rape in general and serial rape; for example, college rape can include serial rape just as can gang rape. Serial rape prevention and single-victim rape prevention overlap significantly, but you will find my sources to differ from the sources contained in the main rape article. This was not a cut and paste. As for original research, I am puzzled. I honestly don't see it. I could improve the article, even if it doesn't make it to a "DYK" so that no original research is contained within it. Barbara (WVS) (talk) 20:54, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
The material removed here [1] was OR. Honestly, I don't see why this material isn't a section of Rape, but if it does remain a standalone article it should probably be renamed Serial rape. In fact, I've just noticed that Serial rape is already a redirect to Rape. EEng 21:44, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
  • ALT1 is the better hook. This article has been much improved since its original nomination. The topic is sufficiently unique that a standalone article is appropriate. Hook is sourced and short enough, article is long enough and new enough, no copyvio, neutral in tone, no qpq is required because this is only the editor's 3rd submittal to DYK.
