Tom Bass (horse trainer)[edit]

Interesting bio, on good sources. - In the article, please
  • link the people mentioned here (links in lead AND first mentioning in body)
  • think about chronology, perhaps first let him have a career, then die?
  • think about the quote box. I could live without it, many words in a short article, and not all to the point. If you want to keep it, consider placing it right, and consider to shorten it to the relevant end. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:43, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
  • I'm surprised the article was approved with bald and inaccurate citations. I formatted all the references; you may want to use WP:Citation templates next time. Yoninah (talk) 16:16, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
I edit off a smartphone and cannot see citation templates on mobile view or use them without a lot of painful zooming in and out, turning the screen from side to side, etc. Also, what do you mean by "inaccurate citations"? As far as I'm aware, all the content in the article is supported by the inline citations, and only reliable sources are cited. There was somebody who went in a while back and threw some unsourced material in in front of the sources, but I thought I reverted all that. I have moved the death section to the bottom after his career. I will probably move the quote box, but Will Rogers was was widely known and respected in America, so I think it merits inclusion. Titling a reference as "The Nevada Daily Mail - Google News Archive Search" instead of by the title, author, newspaper, date, and page number is inaccurate IMO. Actually, I just found out about the editing tools at the top of the edit window; I memorized the citation templates a long time ago and type them in as I insert refs. Are you finished editing the article so I can promote it? Yoninah (talk) 22:55, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
Yes, I think all the concerns have now been addressed. I moved the Will Rogers quote to the death section and added links to the notable people in the lead. By the way, "Nevada Daily Mail Google News Archive Search" was the product of ReFill. Most of the time it parses the correct title, but every once in a while it'll come up with something weird like that. Maybe it's a problem the developers need to solve. I can remember and manually type the cite web template, but I have trouble remembering the longer cite book and cite news ones. White Arabian Filly Neigh 14:56, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
Interesting. That explains a lot of the referencing I've seen in my DYK reviews. Continued good luck editing on your smartphone! Yoninah (talk) 22:08, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
