United States v. Ivanov[edit]

Created/expanded by Dsheffie (talk). Nominated by PFHLai (talk) at 10:33, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

2. The article lists six of the eight counts on which Ivanov was tried and, while a statement in the introduction stating that he was found guilty is cited, the article does not state the counts for which he was found guilty.
3. The first paragraph in the "Appeal" section is uncited, as is the only sentence in the "Holding" section.
4. I am not sure how to check for plagiarism or close paraphrasing. Any help here would be appreciated.
5. Hook length is O.K., although I'd suggest taking out the word "successfully"; it's long and it doesn't add anything.
Apart from items 1 to 3 the nomination looks O.K., although I don't know about item 4. This is my second DYK review, and a second opinion would be appreciated. Sincerely, SamBlob (talk) 23:00, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
I have added the citation regarding Ivanov's arrest and have reworded the statement about him being found guilty to include the fact that he was convicted of cyber-crimes and have cited the source immediately afterward. I have also cited the "Holding" secton/sentence. However, I am not sure which reference would be used to cite the first paragraph of the "Appeal" section. I still have not checked for plagiarism nor for close paraphrasing. Sincerely, SamBlob (talk) 14:09, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi SamBlob, I noticed my article had been nominated for DYK when I was submitting another classmates article. The first paragraph is paraphrases several pages (starting on page 4) of this document (http://www.ctd.uscourts.gov/Opinions/120601.AWT.Ivanov.pdf, heavily referenced in the article). Hope that helps Sincerely, dsheffie (talk)

  • Hey guys, I just posted substantial edits - SamBlob, do you want to take a second look? Justinesherry (talk) 08:31, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
  • O.K. now; I think I may have got back to it too late, though. Sincerely, SamBlob (talk) 21:56, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Thank you, Justinesherry, for your substantial edits. I'm revising the {DYKmake} templates to include you as an author. --PFHLai (talk) 06:49, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
