"This isn't a "ha ha" hook, but rather a "gotcha" hook. I'm trying to play off the fact that everybody knows the WSOP has been played in Vegas for years; so why would it move to Africa? Similar to announcing that the Denver Broncos are moving to Los Angeles (an actual front page AFD news story in the Denver Post in the late 90's).---Balloonman Poppa Balloon 15:33, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Likewise. The assumption that "everybody knows the WSOP has been played in Vegas for years" is not well founded, as an enormous proportion of readers will not have heard of it at all. The statement that WSOP's home is in South Africa is untrue: it is still in Las Vegas, and a very minor offshoot has its base in SA. Kevin McE (talk) 22:28, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
Er, that is why you have the lead in... "that after 42 years of being played in Las Vegas." That takes the assumption out of the equation. And it is not untrue, it does have a home in South Africa.
