Yiddish cinema[edit]

Created by AddMore-III (talk). Self-nominated at 06:00, 30 June 2017 (UTC).

  • The article is new, long enough, neutral, with an interesting subject. The hook is also interesting and with an online reference accepted in good faith, and QPQ is done. Good to go. Javier Espinoza (talk) 01:41, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Would "Hebrew-only proponents" work better? Yoninah (talk) 22:17, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, and am really impressed with the research you did. I was surprised that all the refs were offline – until I found most of them online in Google Preview. I went ahead and formatted all the refs for you using WP:Citation templates. When you produce a solid article like this, you should format all your references and be sure to add ISBN numbers for books. Additionally, with online refs, the DYK reviewer can do a more reliable check for close paraphrasing.
  • I added several "citation needed" tags for information that needs verification. The last paragraph under "Brief golden age", and the last paragraph under "Decline and survival", also lack any cites at all, per WP:DYKSG#D2. Yoninah (talk) 21:15, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Green tickY Done. The few closing lines of the last paragraph are completely trivial. I also removed the links you've added to Google Books, that borders on copyvio. AddMore-III (talk) 10:00, 8 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Sorry, I don't understand how linking to Google Books constitutes copyvio??? These URLs should be restored before this nomination can pass.
  • Did you see my hidden note for the translation of Der Vilner Balabesl? I don't think "Cantor" is the right translation for "Balabesl".
  • FYI, you should use this symbol {{y}} to indicate your check-off of any issue that comes up in your nomination, as the {{subst:DYKtick}} symbol indicates to the DYK bot that the nomination has been approved by the reviewer. I changed your use of the green icon to green ticks in this thread. Yoninah (talk) 19:23, 8 July 2017 (UTC)
  • There is no such requirement for including googlebook links (neither is using citation templates, incidentally), nor can you hold the nomination at ransom for not confirming with that preference. Dahn (talk) 09:43, 9 July 2017 (UTC)
  • The "Vilnius Household-Head" would be more cumbersome a name, but anyway, I switched to the English distribution title. I did not revert your redundant edits with the references, yet I have no intention of using cite templates myself and certainly not Google Books links. If it means this will not pass DYK (though I very much doubt that), I couldn't care less. AddMore-III (talk) 11:32, 9 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Wow, welcome to DYK. I'm sure you'll be very popular around here. Restoring tick per Jaespinoza's review. Yoninah (talk) 11:48, 9 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Dahn, excuse me, could someone forward this DYK already? AddMore-III (talk) 06:04, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
