Dead or Alive series

Template redirect[edit]

Hi @DarkKyoushu:,

I agree with the IP editor, there's no reason to integrate the Dead or Alive series completely into {{Team Ninja}}. One is about the developer, the other about the franchise. Comparing it to Street Fighter is WP:OTHERSTUFF. Better yet, there's also WP:CONSISTENCY to keep in mind. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 07:57, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse the late reply, I had my hands full. I don't think it's worth having Dead or Alive it's own template with a Team Ninja template. It folds in nicely and streamlines the experience majorly. For comparison, look at how various templates were folded into Template:FromSoftware games such as Template:Armored Core series or the Template:Bungie, in which Marathon is folded in despite there also being a Template:Marathon Trilogy - which I also think would be redundant if there weren't a bunch of other things listed that would make no sense in Template:Bungie. (Albeit, it's not necessary there either.) The Dead or Alive Template has no pages that can not be easily folded into a subcategory (or just directly taken over). While is true that this change wouldn't be consistent with other "fighting game templates" (?), it would be consistent with other VG Templates in general. The Dead or Alive entries would have to be added into the Team Ninja template one way or the other; So we'd just have two of the exact same thing anywa. Unless, as the IP Editor did, it simply says "Dead or Alive series". Also, I might add, the Team Ninja and Dead or Alive series templates have been broken and jumbled about all the pages ever since the edits. I didn't get to fixing it yet; But now I'm waiting on the response(s), as both Templates will have to be added one way or the other; But if they fuse it's a lot simpler. Hi @DarkKyoushu:, I have to disagree. While I think {{Armored Core series}} is fine to merge in to {{FromSoftware games}}, as there are no other articles beside the games. Concerning {{Dead or Alive series}}, besides the game, there are a bunch of Dead or Alive characters. There's also a film and several games in which DoA characters make appearances, i.e. Virtua Fighter and Warriors Orochi 3. That doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Team Ninja proper. But what's the point in merging the two navboxes? Just because there is overlap doesn't mean they have to become one. There's Category:Video game navigational boxes by series and Category:Video game navigational boxes by company for a reason, right? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 10:36, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the reply, @Soetermans:. Yeah, I suppose that is true. I suppose the Team Ninja template would be like this from here on out?

Yeah, that looks good to me. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 10:10, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
