Emperor John I/VI[edit]

Would he not be an emperor recognized by Brazilian law, for the Treaty of Rio de Janeiro is a law-binding treaty ratified by both Brazil and Portugal, making Joao VI emperor Joao I. Now he was only titular, but it is nonetheless legal. Thank you, Cristiano Tomás (talk) 00:05, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

First, he was never called "John I". Second, international treaties are not above a country's constitution, Third, the entire idea behind this template is to have key articles to understand the imperial era in Brazil. There are many, many key historical figures who were left out, such as regent Antônio Diogo Feijó, Conservative founder Bernardo Pereira de Vasconcelos, Conservative leader Viscount of Itaboraí, Liberal founder and leader Cristiano Otoni, etc... King João VI was a key figure in the late Brazilian colonial history, not Imperial history. --Lecen (talk) 11:36, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thank you, sorry for the disruption. Obrigado, Cristiano Tomás (talk) 00:07, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry, Cristiano. You were only trying to help. Regards, --Lecen (talk) 00:45, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Possible section[edit]

I was just looking at the template and reading the Portugues version of the Brasilian Empire article and I thought of a possible section to add to this template. I propose a section called origins, which would include articles like the Portugues Corte Transfer and Joao VI and the UK of P, B, and the A and how all this lead up to an independent Brazilian monarchy. Just a thought, thank you, Cristiano Tomás (talk) 01:46, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Province section[edit]

There are many sections about nobility people. But they were only a small part of the empire! Why was the province section removed? The territories that made up the empire are less important than some individuals??? LatinoLatino (talk) 20:17, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is not about nobles, but about key people in the military (the commander-in-chief of each international war) and the key politicians (people regarded as the most important politicians in each decade of the Empire). --Lecen (talk) 20:22, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So, you removed it again and destroyed navigation! [1]. Still these people are individual, no war can be fought with leaders alone. The actual fighters were the people of Brazil! And they lived in the provinces. LatinoLatino (talk) 20:25, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, whatever. I can see that you are new here. I'd like to point out that you shouldn't, I repeat, should NOT create articles which are no more than a single and short phrase and that no one will ever turn into a full article. --Lecen (talk) 20:28, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The articles are more than a line. WRT the template ... have you seen Template:Portuguese overseas empire? Why can the Portuguese Empire have such a monstruos template, and the Empire of Brazil template can not have one or two lines for the provinces? LatinoLatino (talk) 20:35, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the section and made use of Template:Provinces of the Empire of Brazil, which I had created before, seeing Template:Empire of Brazil sitting on the page Provinces of the Empire of Brazil. LatinoLatino (talk) 22:51, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
