Problem with the ref[edit]

The statement of the ref here instead of in the article may not necessarily correspond to the article's reference set-up. For example, if the article uses "harvnb" then this ref defeats its purpose by stating the book in addition to the bibio item. Furthermore, there is no page number on this reference. I would say, take the ref out of the template, but suggest in the template description that the editors use the work as a reference. References or any article-specific information do not belong in templates. What I found is, the editors want to falsify the date in order to make their other refs to this work different. This is just an unnecessary and inelegant hassle.Dave (talk) 08:57, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
