I'll take over maintianing this template, and preventing vandalism et all. --122.172.51.54 (talk) 08:07, 25 January 2009 (UTC) That post was by me. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 08:08, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

roads

I plan to add another catagory about roads meant for rapid transit in India. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 08:12, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Tat'll be taken care by bus rapid tansit already present! Why dont u try adding a category for Elevated Road in india??. BETL,Chennai Elevated roads, etc and be put in there.. --Bharathmeister (talk) 19:57, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Shouldn't Bandra-Worli Sea link be integrated into West Island Freeway?? Isn't tat sea link a part of this project? --Bharathmeister (talk) 08:06, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

It's a separate project. The WIF is a planned extension, from Worli to nariman Point. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 08:18, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Edit

Who removed out articles? I mean why remove Mumbai Monorail, when construction has already started?

I've added Chennai RBTW to the Bus Rapid Transit Section.. Hope it fits in this Category Bharathmeister (talk) 19:51, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Moved Chennai MRTS to Mass Rapid Transit systems as it is a MRTS indeed! (Though built by Indian Railways). Its not a suburban --Bharathmeister (talk) 21:06, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

I don't think that is a good idea. I mean, it carries far less than a Rapid Transit system, and after all is a part of the suburban syste, just built on top of a flyover. I think, we should revert it back. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 07:37, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

The 1st line is not fully complete yet!! I've travelled in these and I noticed its in no low grade from Delhi Metro except for the rolling stock and poor maintenance!! I've travelled in Delhi Metro too!! It carries less ppl coz of inaccesibility! the vital 5-km link to the south suburban line is underconstruction! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bharathmeister (talkcontribs) 10:07, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

The Chennai MRTS, is basically an extension of the suburban railway network and runs off the smae technology, unlike a metro. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:38, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

I don't think there's much difference though.. both use over head cables, both uses banked elevated tracks!! trust me the tracks are almost the same! with concrete banking supporting the tracks! mabbe difference in signalling and other small techical details Bharathmeister (talk) 14:35, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Check this pic for the Chennai MRTS track.. except for the rolling stock, and aweful look of the station, doesn't it look like the same as delhi metro?!? http://jaanlo.com/files/imagecache/rectangle_800/howto_steps/chennai+metro+train.jpg Bharathmeister (talk) 22:52, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

No comments on it, except for Kolkata Metro, all trains in India look the same to me... --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 06:31, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

New Look

How do you like the new look? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 22:14, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Its good.. keep up the good work Bharathmeister (talk) 19:50, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks a lot dude. Thanks for creating a separate catagory for High Speed Rail. I think, it should be the last catagory though, also, you forgot to put Mumbai Maglev into that catagory. Also, I plan to add a new catagory for express roads within cities, and not all expressways in general. This list will include the Hosur Road Elevated Expressway, and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

Check out this article Chennai Elevated Expressways --Bharathmeister (talk) 12:17, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Great, I think, we should add a catagory No. 5, for rapid transit roads. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 18:14, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, and I must say you made a big mistake. You made all of them look they were still being planned. i don't know about Chennai, but the other two are due to be opened in April-May 2009. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 07:48, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

oops!! I juzz checked it now.... Even Chennai part is underconstruction.. apologies! --Bharathmeister (talk) 09:29, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Scope and name

Thanks for making a nice template. I am, however, a bit concerned about the name of the template. According to the GA-class article on rapid transit: "A rapid transit, subway, underground, elevated railway or metro(politan) system is an electric passenger railway in an urban area with high capacity and frequency, and which is grade separated from other traffic." In other words, suburban rail and bus rapid transit are not considered 'rapid transit', and neither is high-speed rail. Would it be better to name this, for instance {{Urban rail transport in India}}, and then include trams, but leave out the high-speed rail? The point is not so much what the template is titled, but what the header says. Arsenikk (talk) 19:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

I completely disagree. This is a list of high capacity projects in India. We can rename it to High Capacity Transit in India, but not split it, as that would result in more confusion. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 07:37, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

How about renaming it as Transit Systems in India.. and another sub-category with Rapid Transits, High-speed Transits, Urban Road Transits, Suburban Transits? --Bharathmeister (talk) 21:00, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Agreed --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 07:36, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Cool. its better u rename it.. Mass Rapid Transit systems and Bus rapid transit systems should be clubbed under Rapid transit systems.. I dont know how to do it.. will try though.. --Bharathmeister (talk) 08:39, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

I would disagree with the clubbing. [Mass] rapid transit and bus rapid transit have no more in common with each other than the other systems, except for the similar names; it is just like an aerial tramway is not a tramway at all. Arsenikk (talk) 08:57, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

let us just rename it to Mass Transit or high-cpacity Transit in India, after all it is about India, and is part of Wikiproject India. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 09:24, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

BRT is indeed a rapid transit!! Check the article Bus rapid transit --Bharathmeister (talk) 10:22, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Delhi BRTS

Created article with info from news sites, and added infobox, please add more info to it. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:31, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Categorizing

How about splitting metro, monorail and other systems within the Mass rapid transit? Subcategory for metro, monorail and others? Now it looks over crowded! Coolguyche17 (talk) 20:15, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

No need it isn't crowded enough for that. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:02, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
