Firefox[edit]

didn't notice this gets screwed in Firefox --Andersmusician $ 04:27, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Link to fr[edit]

The same template exists in fr : fr:Modèle:Wikimédia associés. --82.243.16.245 17:52, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Y Added an interwiki link on the template. Nihiltres(t.l) 20:03, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name Parameter[edit]

There should be a way to pass the name of the portal as parameter, like in {{WikimediaForPortals|Design}}. You say: why? (after all this is done automatically.) I say: because when we design a portal in a temporary user sandbox for instance, there is no way to test for the final behaviour of this template when it will be moved to its permanent location. Thank you, --AlainR345Techno-Wiki-Geek 23:53, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikinews[edit]

Is there a way to get the Wikinews link here to perform a search on Wikinews instead of trying to get to an article with the same name as that of the portal? The way Wikinews titles its articles, it's highly unlikely that they'll have the same title as the portal; it generally just gives you a "Wikinews doesn't have an article with this title" notice, which is no help at all. While some topics have categories within Wikinews, they're in the minority, and they'd rank high in the search results anyway, so it's not as if you'd lose anything. Wikivoyage[edit]

Wikivoyage should be included. --Mike Krüger (talk) 10:49, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

 Done --Funandtrvl (talk) 19:25, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
How to disable it if irrelevant to the content of the portal and only risks to frustrate readers? --ELEKHHT 22:32, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't figured that out yet, but it would have to follow along the lines of Template:Sisterlinks. Maybe we should ask for some help? --Funandtrvl (talk) 22:37, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, it's updated so that you only need to add "=no" to prevent display of a certain project. --Funandtrvl (talk) 19:39, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Fantastic! thanks, --ELEKHHT 22:36, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"v" and "wikt" parameters produce strange results[edit]

|v=no and/or |wikt=no produce a double line break within the adjacent columns (both in the first and second rows), and, in turn, the double line break produces an empty paragraph that alters its height.

Examples

Code (|v=no |wikt=no):
{{Wikimedia for portals |b=no |s=no |v=no |voy=no |wikt=no |page=Foo}}
Result (2 × double line break):

The following Wikimedia Foundation sister projects provide more on this subject:

Code (|v=no):
{{Wikimedia for portals |b=no |s=no |v=no |voy=no |page=Foo}}
Result (double line break):

The following Wikimedia Foundation sister projects provide more on this subject:

Code (|wikt=no):
{{Wikimedia for portals |b=no |s=no |voy=no |wikt=no |page=Foo}}
Result (double line break):

The following Wikimedia Foundation sister projects provide more on this subject:

Code (without "v" and "wikt"):
{{Wikimedia for portals |b=no |s=no |voy=no |page=Foo}}
Result (good one):

I took a look at the code, but I was not able to fix it.
Thank you in advance and happy editing! –pjoef (talkcontribs) 10:59, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Pjoef: [Two years later] I noticed this at Portal:Halo and have fixed the template. The examples in your post no longer show the misalignment. -- John of Reading (talk) 07:50, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mobile friendly layout[edit]

The table layout should be converted to <div> tags to be mobile friendly. See Wikiversity:Template:Wikimedia for portals for an example and corrected code. -- Dave Braunschweig (talk) 18:31, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. — IVORK Discuss 00:02, 20 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with the link on Portal:Aruba[edit]

I have noticed a problem with the wikivoyage link, as it just links to the page 'yes' on wikivoyage. I am really unsure why this is happening (even purging the page does not fix the problem). Does anyone know the cause of the problem / how to fix it? Dreamy Jazz (talk) 13:13, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Found the problem, if you specify anything other than no (or leave it empty) for any parameter that excludes certain Wikimedia links, then it uses that in the URL (but does not include Special:Search). Is this an intentional feature and if it is, it might be worth putting that on the documentation. Dreamy Jazz (talk) 13:22, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
