The Adamant Girl (Tamil: Kottukkaali) is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by P. S. Vinothraj. The film is produced by Sivakarthikeyan and Kalai Arasu under SK Productions. The film stars Soori and Anna Ben (in her Tamil debut), and revolves around Meena, who loves a man from a lower caste but her family thinks she is possessed and the spell is cast out of her.[1]
The film was selected in the Forum section at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival and was screened on 16 February 2024.[2][3][4]

On 10 March 2023 Sivakarthikeyan unveiled the first look of the film revealing star cast of Soori, Anna Ben, and director PS Vinothraj.[5]The film marked the debut of Anna Ben in Tamil cinema.
The film is produced by Sivakarthikeyan Productions in association with The Little Wave Productions with B Sakthivel as cinematographer and Ganesh Siva as editor.[6]
Filming wrapped in May 2023.[7]

The Adamant Girl had its world premiere on 16 February 2024, as part of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, in Forum.[8][9]
Reception[edit]
Victor Fraga writing in DMovies rated the film with 3.5/5 and wrote, "a funny and peculiar little dramedy about female empowerment, that could have done with a little more polishing."[10]
