Oliver Markley is Professor Emeritus and the former Chair of the Studies of the Future graduate program at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and the founding Principal of Inward Bound.

Education[edit]

Dr. Markley received a B.S. in 1962 and a M.S. in 1963 in design engineering from San Diego State and Stanford University. In 1966 he received a M.A. and in 1968, a Ph.D. in social psychology from Northwestern University.

Professional Career[edit]

Markley specialties include interactive guided visioning and enhancement of intuition; enhancement of foresight, creativity, and resilience; and proactive policy analysis. He has consulted and worked with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the U.S. National Institute of Education, NASA Johnson Space Center, Apple, Texas Instruments, Conoco, the Lance Armstrong Foundation, and the International Association for Humanistic Psychology.

Dr. Markley is a member of the World Future Society and Association of Professional Futurists, and a fellow of the World Futures Studies Federation.
