Ecosystem integrity Ecosystem integrity is a measure of the soundness, health, and wholeness of an ecosystem. The ecosystem integrity concept is one response to the need to reduce human impacts on stressed ecosystems, and as such, is a useful tool in environmental policy to help maintain biodiversity, sustainability and resilience of ecosystems in a healthy natural balance, while at the same time allowing them to continue producing services for humanity.
