Pods or poundras are an a Bengali Kshatriya caste who inhibit Bengal ,Bangladesh and parts of Tripura.They are the descendents of the ancient pundravardhana mention of which can be found ancient Hindu literature most notably the mahabharata . They have traditionally been the land owning caste of Bengal.
