Introduction[edit]

Hello, and thank you for checking out my user page! I hope you find my information useful, and interesting. Feel free to discuss or ask questions on my talk page.

About Me[edit]

I have a B.S. in geology with a minor in planetary science from a university in the Washington, DC area. I am looking to attend a graduate school soon to pursue a doctorate in geology or earth science.

I enjoy using Wikipedia to learn more about the world we live in. It is useful, and extremely user friendly despite what many of my professors and advisors have said. I originally began creating article for places listed on the National Register of Historic Places as I enjoy visiting and documenting them on my travels. As my professional career begins to expand, my interests are shifting to contributing to geological articles and subcategories.

Hobbies[edit]

Some of my favorite hobbies include Geocaching and Waymarking. Geocaching is a worldwide real treasure hunting game. There are geocaches on all seven continents and even one on the International Space Station. Waymarking is geocaching's sister site. The basic idea is to document and record the location of unique and noteworthy items in the real world into an online database in 1100 unique categories. For example, McDonald's, art sculptures, National Register of Historic Places listings, theme parks, fountains, airports, historical markers, ect. In a sense, it is a Wikipedia for everyday objects. There are nearly 1 million waymarks posted around the globe. I've found over 6,000 geocaches and have created 30,000 waymarks being the second most contributed user on the site.

I have also contributed to the Historical Marker Database, and I plan on transferring more of my findings from Waymarking in the near future. I enjoy creating and sharing the locations of historical markers, most of which go unnoticed by the general public. Over at Waymarking.com I am a reviewer in several historical marker categories including ones listed from California and Maryland.
