The Total Drama franchise is a Canadian animated Comedy television franchise created by Jennifer Pertsch and Tom McGillis. The original series, titled simply Total Drama, premiered on Teletoon in Canada on July 8, 2007. It followed the hosts and contestants of the animated reality television series of the same name. A spin-off, Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race, began airing on January 4, 2016 on Cartoon Network and similarly followed the host and contestants of the titular race. A second spin-off titled Total DramaRama on October 7, 2018 and returned the franchise to Teletoon. The series abandoned the competition format of it's predecessors and instead move the series to an alternate universe, where four-year-old alternate counterparts of some contestants, as well as Jude from 6teen, attend a daycare run by Chef. A revival series, titled Total Drama Island after the first season of the original series, later aired on Cartoon Network on January 4, 2016.

Total Drama (2007–14)[edit]
Total Drama follows the hosts and contestants of the reality competition series of the same name. The first season, titled Total Drama Island, featured host Chris McLean, joined by camp chef and co-host Chef Hatchet, introducing twenty-two contestants to a run-down summer camp on an island named Camp Wawanakwa. Initially split into two teams, they compete in challenges, with the losing team voting someone off the island. Around halfway through the competition, the teams are merged, with campers winning individual invincibility as a reward. The last camper remaining is given a reward of C$100,000. Fourteen (later fifteen) of the contestants return to compete in the second season, Total Drama Action, which moves the contestants to an abandoned film lot to compete in movie-themed challenges. This season and all subsequent seasons featured a higher prize of C$1,000,000. The third season, titled Total Drama World Tour, would once again see fifteen contestants return, now joined by two (later three) new contestants. Rather than one location, the season featured the contestants traveling the globe in a rundown airplane to compete in challenges based on each location. Unlike other seasons, the contestants were divided into three teams, and were required to participate in musical challenges.
The fourth season, Total Drama: Revenge of the Island, introduced thirteen new contestants back to Wawanakwa, which has been turned into a toxic waste dump since the original season. A fifth season would later air in two parts, with the first part, titled Total Drama All-Stars, featuring fourteen contestants from previous seasons returning to compete at the now decontaminated Wawanakwa. The season half, Total Drama: Pahkitew Island, introduced another fourteen new contestants on the titular new island.
Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race (2016)[edit]
Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race, similar to it's predecessor, follows the hosts and contestants of the reality competition series of the same name. Now hosted by Don, the contestants race in eighteen teams of two in a twenty-six leg race around the globe, with the last team arriving at each leg potentially facing elimination. The last team remaining receives C$1,000,000.
Total DramaRama (2018–23)[edit]
Total DramaRama, set in an alternate universe from it's predecessors, follows the students of the Happy Tots Daycare Centre run by Chef Hatchet. The main class of students includes four-year-old versions of eleven of the original Total Drama Island contestants, as well as Jude from 6teen, while two more students, one from both Total Drama: Revenge of the Island and Total Drama: Pahkitew Island, would join the class in the third and final season.
Total Drama Island (2023–)[edit]
Total Drama Island is a revival of the original series, seeing Chris and Chef return to host a new season. The first season was split into two parts, with the first part introducing sixteen new contestants to an island modeled after Wawanakwa and the second part seeing all sixteen contestants return for a rematch.
