- 1910 Global Settlement Agreement The 6 decade process of land claims commenced in 1960 under the leadership of Siksika Chief Clarence McHugh in 1959. McHugh stated “They told us they would give us a bag of money which would never empty, but somehow, that bag developed a great big hole.” In reference to the late Minister of the Interior, Frank Oliver Who was instrumental in the disembowelment of 289,897 acres of First Nation's territorial integrity throughout his career. He advised First Nations to cede/surrender treaty territory throughout Canada in exchange for frequently reneged Federal concessions or cohesion such as denial of necessities such as food. He promised the Siksika: " It might be better to sell what they do not use for a big bag of money, which could give them money for ever and ever!". McHuge described the surrendering as '“They cut our reserve up like a Christmas turkey and wasted our money.” [5] A reporter described the desolation of Siksika as being 'ramshackle, uninsulated houses without foundations, with cracks and broken windows, patched up with rags and cardboard.', and the houses built from the 1912 initial sale as "almost falling apart". according to McHugh.

=Opiate Fentanyl epidemic= (Complete) Since 2014 Alberta's urban and rural communities endured an fatal opiate epidemic as Fentanyl emerged on the street narcotic market. Notley's government responded with harm reduction counter measures such as the distribution of Naloxone injection kits and Naloxone spray for Edmontonian and Calgarian police and EMS.[2][3]

Albertan Liberal Opposition leader David Swann petitioned the Notley government to issue a state of emergency.[4], Neighboring Province BC issued a state of emergency as did the Blood Tribe and Nakota nations as frequent and close succession fatal overdoses on these First Nations communities as well throughout Alberta. However, as of November 2016 the Notley government views the measure inappropriate as Albertan medical facilities were already established and gained experience through epidemics such as SARS.[5] However the health minstry is showing great interest in the prospect of establishing safe sites in Edmonton and is reviewing the data for the harm reduction approach.Associate health minister NDP MLA Brandy Payne granted $230K to the 'Access to Medically Supervised Injection Services Edmonton' to apply for permission to establish a 'safe site' in Edmonton. Increased funding was allocated to treatment and for the communities to explore the prospect of operating 'safe sites'.[6]. However, Fentanyl is usually ground and inhaled or ingested and not injected.

To further compound and aggravate the situation more potent Opiates such as W-18 and Carfentanil are emerging on the menu of illicit narcotics in Alberta. These compounds may be resistant to harm reduction counter measures such as the antidote Naloxone.[7][8]

(Is this completed needs double check April 25, 2017)

In early 2018, an inter-provincial trade dispute between the British Colombian NDP and Albertan NDP hampered the export of resources. Alberta's AGLC ceased to export wine produced in BC. Notley's government chose this as retaliation for Hogan's government decision to limit export of Bitumen from Alberta as protest to ongoing discussion of the proposed Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion. completed (Feb 2018).

The NDP made revisions reforms and implemented new services to public health services. In 2018, the NDP proposed legislature Bill 9 ('The protecting choice for women accessing healthcare act') to enforce 50 m buffer zones around abortion clinics in Alberta to ban harassment by pro-life activists against users and personnel of these facilities.
