Constantino Pereira Martins (Lisbon, 1974), father of Francisco Carneiro Gonçalves Pereira Martins and Guilherme Marques Matias Pereira Martins, is a thinker, director, researcher, teacher and author who has dedicated to the study of Philosophy, Politics, Aesthetics, Cinema, Theology, Architecture and Sport. He has a degree, a postgraduate degree, a master's degree and a doctorate from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa in Philosophy, as well as degrees (without a thesis) at master's and doctoral level from the Department of Communication Sciences of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and has been a high school teacher since 1999. He is currently (2024) a researcher at the Institute of Philosophical Studies at the University of Coimbra, and a collaborating researcher at the Center for Global Studies at the Open University. He was the creator and founder of FilArch and AFDLP.

He studied with Dr. Luís Gottschalk and Dr. Armando Nascimento Rosa at the Cidade Universitária Secondary School. He attended the 1st year of Law at the Faculty of Law in the University of Lisbon, the year Professor Palma Carlos died, and then changed his major to Philosophy at the New University of Lisbon. During his studies he was mainly influenced by the following professors: 1) in Law: Saldanha Sanchez, Palma Carlos, Ruy Albuquerque, Jorge Miranda, Soares Martinez, Bacelar Gouveia, etc.; 2) in Philosophy: Maria Filomena Molder, José Gil, Diogo Pires Aurélio, Nuno ferro, Mário Jorge Carvalho, etc.; 3) in Communication: José Bragança Miranda; 4) in Cinema: Frederick Wiseman, Jean-Luc Godard, Martin Scorsese, Federico Fellini, Gaspar Noé, etc. ; 5) in Sport: Michael Jordan, Jonah Lomu, Ramon Dekkers, Saenchai, Gae, etc; 6) in Theatre: Cornucópia, Luis Miguel Cintra; 7) in the Arts: Klimt, Bruegel, Egon Schiele, Hammershøi, Pina Bausch, Hieronymus Bosch, etc; 8) in Music: Bach, Handel, Cramps, Dead Kennedys, Portishead, Travadinha, Amália Rodrigues, Maria Callas, Cesária Évora, etc. From a more global point of view, his thinking and writing are directly influenced by Kant, Hobbes, Foucault, Kierkegaard, Ariano Suassuna, Wittgenstein, Kafka, among others.

Politically, he is as a Europeanist and a regionalist, at an ideological crossroads between conservatism and liberalism, having been heavily involved in ecological activism in defense of the River Vizela. He was the founder of a failed attempt at a political party (Liga Norte) which sought to build a political position in defense of the North of Portugal, and consequently of all the national regions, to consolidate in Portugal a political position based on pragmatism, co-opetition, combating corruption in defense of openness, honesty, and transparency, and committed to the country's economic and civic progress in deepening its true European integration.

As a sportsman, he practiced various sports and physical activities: Athletics, Futebol Salão, Basketball, Snorkeling, Ultimate Frisbee, and Muay Thai. In the last six years, he has dedicated himself to Thai Boxing, having trained in São Paulo, Montreal, Lisbon, Mafra, Odivelas, Seville, and Peniche.

FILMOGRAPHY

Independent filmmaker. He dedicated himself to documentary filmmaking between 1998 and 2014. Initially, he filmed about music, then delved deeper into his relationship with Africa and particularly Cape Verde, ending his career with two film essays on the memory of the 20th and early 21st centuries in Portugal.
