Hello! I am Dan Dawson and now live in Bend, Oregon, but prior to that lived in Santa Cruz County, California.

When I first came across Wikipedia I thought it was an EXCELLENT concept! It didn't take long at all before I made an edit or two, next thing I knew I was creating new articles.

I'm a web developer, professional photographer and also a private pilot. You will see most of my edits probably pertaining to those areas as well as the local history of the Santa Cruz area.

My most recent project has been documenting a bit of the history of the airports in Santa Cruz County. All but one of them are now closed or restricted to being private-use airports.

I currently fly Cessna 172's, 182's, and Cherokee 140's and did most of my flying out of Watsonville Municipal Airport. I am also an FAA Part 107 certified pilot of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and volunteer with my local Sheriff's office Search and Rescue team as their Air Operations Team Coordinator.
