Note: Some names have not yet gotten straightforward English-language equivalents. Until the official English-language version of the anime is released, the most popular English translation of the name should be used with other name variants listed somewhere in the article. Roya is a 16 year old shardcaster from Tempura and a favourite disciple of Jiko. She was brought to Tempura from Tusk as child. She's a typical "girl next door" and is loved by everyone in Tempura. When she discovers her true Tuskan identity she finds herself wondering what her true identity is, and goes to Tusk to find out. This culminates in her receiving a healing shard and deciding to walk the path of healer, trying to help people wherever she goes. Roya controls the spirit Apukareru.

Main Characters

Zed (ゼッド, Zeddo, voiced by Hiroyuki Yoshino, 平田宏美 (child))

Spirits: Rambos (ランボス, Ranbosu) and Key Spirit Amil Gaul (アミル・ガウル, Amiru Gauru)

The white-haired protagonist of the series. He's described by the show's producers as the silent lone-wolf type who only shows affection to those that he's close--his mother and his best friend. Zed is originally from the land of Calm, a dystopic city where "no wind blows". On his 15th birthday he arrived in the land of Tempura and awakened as a shardcaster. He becomes frustrated with his inability to control Amil Gaul but desiring power to help the Jimoto Princess Rebecca, he acquired a new spirit, "the soul of power". While less powerful then Amil Gaul, Rambos is able defeat Dumas and Glaucio. He discovers his childhood friend from Calm is in possession of a key spirit and living in Neotopia.

Noa (ノア, voiced by: Kazuma Horie, 矢口アサミ (child))

Spirit:Sachura (サチュラ, Sachura)

Zed's childhood friend from Calm. Noa starts off in the series as a loyal and sensible friend of Zed's who also suffers from severe health problems. At heart, he is sensitive, caring and a pacifist. But, later on in the series he gains the key spirit Sachira and dons the role of savior of Neotopia. A staunch believer in the "Absolute Rules" of Neotopia he vows to protect them with his life. He also expresses the desire to defeat Zed as he feels, when he was a child, he was always in Zed's shadow.

Roya (ロイア, Roia, voiced by Nana Mizuki)

Spirit: Apukareru (アプカレル).

Roya is a 16 year old shardcaster from Tempura and a favourite disciple of Jiko. She was brought to Tempura from Tusk as child. She's a typical "girl next door" and is loved by everyone in Tempura. When she discovers her true Tuskan origins she finds herself in an identity crises, and goes to Tusk to find out more about herself. This culminates in her receiving a healing shard and deciding to walk the path of a healer, trying to help people which was always in her nature. Roya controls the spirit Apukareru.
