Unverified information on Buckfast page

Hi Deiz. You have changed my edit of the Buckfast page, where you have claimed that Coatbridge is the Buckfast Capital of Scotland, which is an incorrect quote. If you have ever been to Coatbridge, you would know that Coatbridge & Airdrie is joined at the hip, and known collectively as "Monklands". Buckfast sales in Airdrie are the same as in Coatbridge, which is why the Buckfast Triangle is known as Airdrie, Coatbridge, and Cumbernauld. uc merced

Sounds like an advertising tag to me. UC Merced is a new campus so they don't have much to be proud of, yet. I don't really see how being the 1st in the 21st century is a claim to notability. UC Merced is pretty much a holding pen right now for students who couldn't get into better UC schools (like my soon-to-be alma mater, UCSD[beep-beep - me tooting my own horn]). Not all is available on the club website. I had to do some reasearch for it. If I wanted to avoid your definition of "conflict of interest", I wouldn't have edited anything on Wikipedia. I wanted to have my account renamed to Adam.J.W.C. but becuase I had 1 block for personal attacks they would not do it, even though I have reverted hundreds of spam and vandalised articles since then. Joe Rogan: Deleting Additional Info

You could have added tags to the information that did not provide sources (giving other users the opportunity to provide sources), but you took it upon yourself to remove the ENTIRE "Additional Information" section without discussing it first. Not only did you delete the unsourced information but you deleted information that cited it's sources as well. Are you going to take it upon yourself to delete every "Additional Information" and "Trivia" section on Wikipedia?RavenJA 06:58, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

turbittj Saipan links

I live in Saipan. I think I know it better than you. I used to live in Korea. I wouldn't go telling you what is important in Korea anymore. I added three of the most popular and useful Saipan links in the Saipan section, and you call it spam. I'm trying to remain civil as per your admonition, but I would expect more from a Hedberg fan. I would never spam, and I added no spam, yet I'm blocked. Give me a break. Did you even look at the links you call spam. They were advice for travelers in Saipan and descriptions of life in Saipan. How is that spam in the Saipan section? If that is the way this thing works then yeah, that is my first and last involvement with this site.

I think the problem here is you don't fully understand what external links are and are not supposed to do on WP. Nutshell: linking to blogs is out, linking to a central Saipan info site is in, which is where the article is right now. You can read all about it at Wikipedia:External links. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not an information directory. I'm sure you can add plenty of encyclopedic content about Saipan, but you have to play by the rules. What was your previous username? If that is the way it is fine. I know it was useful. I got feedback to that effect from tons of people in Japan who used it to learn about Saipan for their vacation here. I didn't make anything off of it, I'd love to see a similar list at other locations, and I certainly resent a spam label. Nothing harmful came of those links for sure. It wasn't off topic. This whole site is basically one giant blog btw. I'm glad to see you have some reason for doing that, and weren't just some a**hole busting my chops, which I was sure was happening. I disagree, but I'm new and I don't think long for wikipedia, so c'est la vie.

Sydney Coach Terminal

Hi, I noticed you put the advert notice back in the Sydney Coach Terminal article, do you think it would be possible to re-write or to even reduce some of the text so that it does not read like an advert. Last time I was in the terminal to purchase a ticket I realised what great info they provided as in tourist info and public transport, so I decided to write an article about the Sydney Coach Terminal. Not to advertise for them, as I would have nothing to gain, but to provide information for the public, as in oversees tourists who might be thinking of coming over one day. I have tried to make it sound not so much like an advert by removing the excessive use of the address and maybe a few other things, or another good idea would be to delete the article completely. I haven't touched the article, just pointed out the tag was valid. Its reads horribly like an advert and smells like a cut-and-paste from a corporate blurb. Whats up with your new signature? I am not quite sure if I have broken any law concerning my signature, its just that I get sick of the same one pretty easily and if a can't have a new user name then this would be the next best thing. I also wish not to start a new account becuase that would be considered sock puppetry and I would like to keep my edit history and watchlist in tact.

Re this disputed image, I created said image and released all copyright on it and uploaded it to the Bill Hicks page here at wikipedia. I'm not sure why it has been removed as I stated these facts when I uploaded it. DD-Jnr

And you took the original picture, and have permission from the estate of Bill Hicks to release his likeness into the public domain? I don't think so. Just because you cut and edited a copyrighted image does not mean you have the right to release it. It's important to send a clear message that edits such as that cannot and will not be tolerated, obviously the threat was likely not "serious". We'll see if anything comes up on the talk page. Could you delete a page for me?

Hi, just wondering if you could delete Userbox:Derry_Boi/Sandbox2 for me. I created it and it was meant to be a sub-page of my user space, but as you can see, I started the link with "Userbox" and not "User", so it didn't become a sub-page and hence has no bread line back to its parent page. Stupid mistake on my behalf. No need to move it, I think deleting it would be the best option. I don't really know anything about the deletion process, so thoughtI'd seek an admin for help. Bam Margera & JAPW

You didn't give any support as to why it isn't significant. Sure he makes a lot of appearances, but for JAPW, they don't have a celebrity at their shows all the time. With Margera, he raised the promotions profile the much more slightly even if he didn't do much. Mr. C.C. 05:41, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

There was deletion tag put upon the JAPW article and well, the concensus was to keep it. I had to revert an edit on the JAPW page due to blatant copy and pasting. I have tried to contact Fat Frank to see if I could use the history of JAPW from the JAPW official site without having to paraphrase it. WP:NOT

Please see WP:Deletion#Deletion_discussion paragraph two, sentence one. Nothing controversial, as consensus already exist that voters should refer to policy. Just saying delete per WP:NOT is not enough, for WP:NOT has a lot of information on it. Users need to demonstrate they know specifically what part of WP:NOT it violates, otherwise it becomes nothing more than a canned response deletionists use. Self explanatory addition. Kelvin Tatum

Neville Tatum is one of the top engine tuners in speedway, referred to in the reference book as explained in the note. I obviously put the reference note on the wrong place originally, which I have now corrected. He also represented Great Britain at international level as a rider, albeit not very often. Peter Oakes, the book author is the just a bout the most prolific speedway writer about. So to mention Neville Tatum, I have to write an article on an author of a book that mentions the fact he is an engine tuner, then write an article on Neville Tatum just to show that Kelvin Tatum has a sporting sibling ? I am trying to write a comprehensive speedway section, not a section on authors. Where do I draw the line ? Reseacrhing what papers Oakes has worked for and the name of every one of his books ? I am currently trying to write up all World Championship riders as someone else has been whining about red links.

Further information can be found about Stuart Robson at the website of his current team. There seems to be no problem listing the club webiste on a football players article. Wikipedia is not a link farm, that I totally agree with. However if the links to football club sites are suitbale for football players then is is the same for speedway riders. In your own opinion that is wrong, then maybe as an administrator you should bring that up with your peers. In the meantime I have taken a look at the Wikipeida external links section in in my opinion the Offical club site link is a perfectly legitimate external and have re-added it. Your point about sibling category, whilst I disagree with it, I will leave them off articles until I can be bothered/get around to writing them. As it stands I feel like doing nothing at all. I have only recently started posting again after a pointless argument with a bot owner that was finally sorted when an admin/editor who was not on a power trip was very helpful and sorted the imaging problem for me and since then I have been using his posting as a rough template. Reports and interviews appear under different sections and different pages. Again being pedantic for the sake of it. My example of 'power trip' is now even more valid. An external link to site that contains various sources of further relevant information is accaptable. If you have a real issue with this then I suggest you contact the fotball wiki project group instead of bullying one mug who is trying to build a speedway section almost single handedly. If I was making pages into link farms or posting unverified crap then fine but I'm not. I am posting articles on a subject I know a lot about using perfectly acceptable sources. Many are stubs but have been added to by other editors who have had bad experiences on Wiki in the past. Just because you are unfamiliar with them does not make them unreliable. Maybe your time will be better spent looking at real problems within wikipedia than a few external links.Hammer1980 14:33, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Sites change the way they are organised all the time, to discourage hotlinking, the domain name rarely does. The External links do not break the rules as I easily explained. You seem to think otherwise. This is a matter of opinion, not fact. The fact you are continuing to debate with me over a point that is so trivial, indicates to me you are on a power trip. Sorry if that offends you. The links are not wrong according to the guidelines and therefore I am not ignoring anything because everyone else does. The Kennett family is one of the most famous families in speedway. The two brothers were notable in speedway from the fact that all three were professional riders at the same time. I agree that some people have added one notable person who happens to have a brother/sister in sport even though they are not particularly notable or don't have a page, in this case I have asked them to either remove them or create a page for them if they are notable, I shall change the intro on the page. I agree there is a human interest angle, I just can't help thinking that creating a category which a) requires 2 notable people to be articled and included, and b) where the category title does not in itself underline why those listed are notable (compare with "Category:Nobel laureates" to choose a random example) might be a step too far. Let's keep an eye on it for now, if there are continued problems we'll look at the options. Right now I hope you will join me in ensuring that 2 separate articles which establish notability (rather than a claim to a non-linked / redlinked sibling's notability on one page) should be the minimum entry requirement - single articles should be removed until their twin is created, not allowed to stay on the promise of future creation. Foreign Objects

Sorry for adding in any unessecery information on the foreign objects article. Though, i still do wish to keep the 'Drew' in the former members section. He was the bassist for Foreign Objects sometime during 1996. Deron actually does state that he does not remember Drew's surname.

I appreciate you are editing in good faith, but simply adding "Drew" with no surname or sources is not really in keeping with Wikipedia policies and ambitions. FO was a garage band that became retroactively notable after CKY took off, info about the handful of early shows they played is also not really important - try to keep things in perspective - Tool, Soundgarden etc. no doubt played little shows in front of a handful of people as well when they were starting out. Just because FO doesn't have much of a history doesn't mean we have to delve into the minutiae to pad out the article. They have one notable re-released EP, they became CKY.. that's pretty much it. Korean subway templates

Having looked into this a bit more, it seems that the previous/next station feature is essentially redundant to {{S-line}}, a succession box designed for rail services. It's presumably because your ISP assigned you the same dynamic IP, the entire 81.xxxxxxxx range is assigned to a company called RIPE who are based in the Netherlands.. they may have leased various numbers to whoever you're connected with. Indeed, as I pointed out in my edit summary. That is different to being underpopulated, which broadly means there are not yet enough entries in the category (think less than 10) to justify having the category in the first place. Adding that tag notifies "general" editors of the need to fill the cat. Hi Ted, to be honest I'm not convinced this hits the requirements, particularly the need for the coverage to be non-trivial. I don't really regard blogs helpful in establishing notability, just - in some cases - OK to reference information. As far as the media references go:

• Washington Times - redirected to main page
• Col. Springs Gaz. - something, but still an op/ed
• Dallas Morning News - passing, trivial
• Wash. Post - entirely trivial mention in a trivial column

So, on the strength of these references I personally would have to stick with my original decision. However, there is something out there, so keep at it. It may be better in the long run if you hold off until you're really certain it's over the line, as every recreation and deletion makes the article harder to stick in the future. WP:CHILL is a piece I wrote a while ago that many editors have agreed with, and I think it really applies in this case. Cheers, Deiz talk 14:00, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

I feel kinda bad for the guy

I removed Jess Margera's website because his "official page" consists only of Amazon purchase links and a members-only message board - hardly an encyclopedic site as required by WP:EL. He is also yet to release anything with VS and his status within the band is unclear, seems this might be a guest role rather than permanent membership. Hello. I found that the article was necessary to mak because it is claimed to be an offshoot of another genre, and therefore, it's own. However, the information that was provided for that article was nonetheless contributed by a reader to a section of the Industrial metal page. The information of the Cyber-metal page should at least be recovered and placed in its previous location in the Industrial-metal genre. Undo revision

Hello, Deiz. I read your warning comment. I admit that some editors could think undo without any explanation unacceptable in Wiki. However, I thought that reverting edit in itself indicates the disagreement to the prior editor. Besides, the input space was complex and crowded due to the automatic tag for undo.

I have not ever thought of Wikipedia as repository of images. Every articles in wiki are in progress and in transient status and need more suitable images for people to understand what they read. In my perspective, the three images uploaded by Isaac Crumm are not good enough to represent Namdaemun market. Honestly, the pictures have technical problems and look not so great. Therefore, I intended to remove the them from the page as soon as I upload the images to Common Wiki. If I simply exchange them with images in spite of leaving a good explanation, the uploader might 've felt unpleasant. So, I firstly put the five new images from the common wiki, but you quickly reverted the page.

Most of all, it is hard for me to understand your action to remove the Commoncat|Namaemun market template repeatedly. The template can provide more info of the market.

On the other hand, Namdaemun market is just a small market as you think. It is the oldest and largest wholesale market in Seoul. The average customers of the market per day are almost 500,000 people. 9,265 shops are located in it. Your comment seems lack of your knowledge regarding it. Wiki is open dictionary for everyone as we all know and anyone can update the contents with better sources. --Appletrees 23:42, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Use images that uniquely identify the market, and don't use 8 images where 3 or 4 will do, that's the rule of thumb around here. It's a popular market, but it's a market all the same. I would rate that article as more encyclopedic than Bradford Bulls 2007, and incomparable to the article proposed for deletion. We do not need 1) a team article with extensive current team data, 2) a current season article with seriously unencyclopedic minute details, and data forked from the parent, and 3) yet another separate article with a rundown of the lineup for each and every game played in a given season - this is not what Wikipedia or any encyclopedia is intended for. 2007 run on teams

hey there. finally I see someone is getting this "run on team" thing sorted. Unfortunately I made 2007 pages for all UK NRL and superleague teams that didn;t already have a 2007 page, just so I could "hide" these pointless starting lineups on. I have now gone through all these (well, some of them so far) deleting all info. As an admin, could you go through and delete all these articles please, as they will never have anything more than just a lineup on them. I realise that I went around this the long way, but I was fed up of deleting the lineup just to have it re-added, so I started the 2007 pages as a way to get these lineups off the main article pages. The thing about starting lineups is now part of WP:NOT so future lineups can be removed on-sight according to policy. The 2007 pages are a different proposition, if you look at the Liverpool 2007 page linked above, there is at least a standard to aspire to here. They can't be speedily deleted under WP:CSD so theres nothing I can unilaterally do as an admin. You could nominate them for deletion the normal way but as there is potentially sourceable info to put on them they would probably survive... Deiz talk 10:02, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Ok, fair enough. If you could take a look at these pages however, I was the creator (and only contributor) to these pages for the most part. They are extremely unlikely to see any activity, considering the season's end is only a week or two away! There is no provision on Wikipedia for "reading lists", if some article contain them they should be reformatted... as I said, if they are used as sources for the text contained in the article they should be listed. If they are notable works with an existing article of their own, they can be bluelinked. If its just a book that has something to do with the subject it shouldnt be listed. Hope this helps!
