Pirana Dargah[edit]

The Pirana Dargah is located in Pirana Village which is about 18 kilometers away from the city Ahmedabad. The other name of Pirana Dargah is Imam Shah Bawa Dargah. The Pirana Dargah is believed to be founded 550 years ago. The Dargah is famous for it's ancient shrine of Hajarat Pir Imamuddin Shah Bawa. The ancient shrine draws the attention of many followers from all over Gujarat. There are hindu followers known as "Satyapanthis" and muslim followers are called as "Saiyeds"[1].Many people visits this shrine every year. Lunch and dinner facilities are available for all the visitors of Dargah. The dargah also organize events like Sandal Ceremony[2]. It is also said that all 18 communities who lives in Pirana Village belongs to different religions and castes and are devotees of Imam Shah Bawa. The priests there are in charge of the main tomb are also claimed that they are Hindus. Also, there is a Hindu syllable Om sign which is painted on different places on the walls[3]

There is a Dholia(Aashan) build at the spot where Imam Shah Bawa used to sleep and one also in the mosque.

Besides this Dargah, there are several other Dargahs- Ajmer Sharif Dargah[4], and Haji Ali Dargah[5] are important.

Qutub-e-Alam's Mosque and Shah-e-Alam's Roza[6] are the famous Dargahs in Ahmedabad.

Further there are dargahs like Saiyad Usman Mosque in the city.
