I'm a retired British computer technologist living in Scotland having taken early retirement from the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh in 2009 to develop a small digital forensics company. I went to George Watson's College and then Edinburgh University where I took both my degrees.

I've only been editing Wikipedia since 2020 having noticed that a number of my eminent university colleagues were under-reported or missing from Wikipedia. I also note that a cohort of British and Irish astronomers from the period 1945 to 1975 is hardly mentioned at all despite having done pioneering work. Addressing this gap in coverage is a retirement project.
