A demonstration test of the PRE, TT and CODE text formatting tags.

Conducted by Fgf2007 16:33, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Introduction[edit]

This demo test was to point out an anomaly with Wikipedia's TT and CODE tags. It was originally posted around 2008-2009. Since then, changed to the Wikipedia language structure appears to have corrected the issues discussed herein.

Hopefully, this anomaly involving Wikipedia TT and CODE formatting tags - where the first (and sometimes last) line of data appears outside the box, and where when using CODE, the text is sometimes NOT in fixed-width font made - will be corrected soon. I for one would prefer using TT and/or CODE, because they allow usage of various HTML and Wikipedia tags, where PRE does not. However, if Wikipedia modified their PRE code language as well, that would be a sure step in the right direction. How bout it, U Wiki BigWigs?

Demo[edit]

When I have attempted to place this information on Wikipedia pages using TT or CODE formatting tags, not only is the "Total Purse" first line outside the box, but so is (sometimes) the last line (20th, 40th and 60th place prizes). If CODE is used, the text font outside the box is not same as that inside the box.
