"Dive" is a song by American dream pop band Beach House. It was released on March 7, 2018 through Sub Pop, as the second single for their album 7 (2018).[1]

Release[edit]

Along with the announcement of their seventh studio album 7 and its accompanying tour dates, they would release "Dive".[2]

Critical reception[edit]

Named upon release as "Best New Track", Jayson Greene from Pitchfork said that the instruments used on "Dive", a "louder guitar and a "detuned" organ, "play out against a melancholia meant to feel as untouchable and ancient as the moon in afternoon sky".[3]

Sr. Santos is the fifth studio album by American singer Arcángel, released on December 1, 2022, through Rimas Entertainment, as a tribute to the singer's brother Justin Santos, who died in a car accident in 2021. The album contains collaborations with Bad Bunny, Duki, Bizarrap, Myke Towers, Yovngchimi, Bryant Myers, Eladio Carrión, Young Miko, Diem BB, De la Ghetto, Almighty, Chucky73, Jim Jones, Dowba Montana, and Young Flow.

Two singles were released from the album—"JS4E" and "La Jumpa"—and were positioned in several charts. Its lead single, which is an acronym for "Justin Santos 4 Ever", peaked at number 23 on the US Hot Latin Songs chart, while its second single peaked at number three on the same chart, also peaking at number 68 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 14 on the Billboard Global 200 charts; it also received several nominations and was certified four times platinum by Productores de Música de España.

Arcángel told Billboard that he was originally supposed to release an EP on November 2021 but plans for its release would be cancelled after hearing about the death of his brother, Justin Santos, who died in a car accident.

Singles[edit]

"JS4E" was released on November 21, 2022, as the lead single for Sr. Santos. The single, as well as an accompanying music video, was released as a tribute to the singer's brother Justin Santos.[1] The song peaked at number 23 on the US Hot Latin Songs chart.

"La Jumpa" with Bad Bunny was released on November 30, 2022, as the second single for Sr. Santos.[2] The song attained commercial success, as well as critical acclaim and chartings in multiple countries such as the United States, Spain, and Portugal. "La Jumpa" debuted and peaked at number 68 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 14 on the Billboard Global 200.

Commerical performance[edit]

In the United States, Sr. Santos debuted and peaked at number three on the Top Latin Albums and number two on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart, with 19,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first weeks. The album debuted at number 37 on the Billboard 200. The album also reached the top 10 on the Spanish Albums Chart.[3]
