As stated on the user page of that account, I currently have no intention of ever again becoming a regular contributor to any Wikimedia project. However, some of my contributions to Wikipedia have turned out to be either not quite accurate, open to misinterpretation, or have become so owing to discoveries made after I stopped editing. Since I consider myself obliged to correct any of these that I become aware of, I've found it necessary to make a small number of edits to Wikipedia since I decided to stop.

Because I scrambled the password to my original account, I no longer have access to it. Until April 2021, I was able to make the few corrections I felt were necessary to my previous contributions without logging in to any account. The only way I could upload these images to Commons, however, was from a Wikimedia account, which is why I created this one. There are unlikely to be many future occasions when I feel obliged to edit any Wikimedia project. For any that do occur, however, I will either perform the edits from this account, or without logging in.

In December 2021, the MediaWiki software weirdly allowed me to log in to my original account for a day or two, using a password supplied by my password manager, during which time I made a single edit to the user page of my old account. On checking the the password held for that account in my password manager I found that it was the old one I had used for many years before I scrambled it and (as far as I can tell) deleted the scrambled one from the password manager. On January 6, 2022, I found I was no longer able to log in to that account, and have not tried to edit from it since then.
