Voodoochilli.net is an online community showcasing the artwork of visual artists from around the world. It was launched in 2002 by Harry O'Connor as personal project aiming to promote his work and the work of his then girlfriend and art student Rebecca Needs. Within a short period of time other people on the internet started to send in their work to be showcased.
Development[edit]
In 2003 Harry O'Connor, Rebecca Needs and Carl Palm relaunched the website at The Hereford College of Arts where Harry and Rebecca worked and Carl studied. The new version of the site was database driven using PHP and Mysql to serve dynamic pages enabling artist to upload their own images, replacing the need to upload each image individually. The launch was aided by the testing of over a dozen students and several other members of staff.
