User:IcicleTower/Colonial Athletic Association football individual awards

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Coaches and media of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) award seven individual honors at the end of each college football season. These awards include Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Special Teams Player of the Year, Offensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year and the Chuck Boone Leadership and Excellence Award.

CAA Football began play in 2007 as a separate entity independent of the CAA but operated by the same front office. In 2005, the conference absorbed the football-only members of the Atlantic 10 Conference, which had dissolved as a football-playing league. As a result, CAA Football retained the history and records of the Atlantic 10 and its predecessor, the Yankee Conference.
