Welcome[edit]

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I'm interested by your user name. Are you interested in medicine? or diplomacy? Definitely let me know on my talk page if you have any questions or anything. Look forward to working with you! Peace, delldot | talk 04:53, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply, and let me know if I can be of any use with anything. See you around, delldot | talk 15:34, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

My user name[edit]

immunity stems from a shorter version of my other known name across the internet "Vindictive Immunity" or VI for short.

I am definitely interested in diplomacy, though that is not what the name is truly meant to convey, the vindictive immunity is from anyone that wished to be vindictive, I would be immune to their attempts. I do find it a bit funny to see the term "immmunity" to be connected to not being kicked off reality TV shows. --  immunity  talk  20:03, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Sev / HFStival[edit]

Thanks for that Sev article, pun'kin. I've linked it from the lineups table in the HFStival page. I'm in the middle of moving and kind of only have 'net access periodically (when I'm not in my office, I can read but not edit Wiki and read but not post on hfstival.com from my cell phone). Keep an eye on HFStival for me, would you? It's not like it's a magnet for major vandalism, but try and keep out edits like this one :)

Incidentally, why'd you delete yourself from hfstival.com? Also, do you think your pal Spam would be interested in contributing to the history section, or anything about the booking process, or maybe just some neat trivia from HFStivals past? --keepsleeping slack off! 15:28, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Hey, Immunity. I'm glad you caught my little tongue-in-cheek comment on the SEV page. I never intended to be a vandal. Just having some fun. I knew someone would soon come along and catch my drift. Glad you did. MyWikiBiz 18:25, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
You're welcome. I can't believe I didn't catch that "our" the first time. vi 21:44, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

HFStival[edit]

Thanks for applying your keen eye to the List of HFStival acts. I'm sure there are several more similar mistakes with links and alphabetization: I hastily created the list using a script to convert the grid in HFStival after the old "Category:HFStival acts" was tagged for deletion. —Xanderer 14:10, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your guidance on the HFStival article. Did you attend this year's show? (I think I actually sunburned through my clothing.) Incidentally, do you know how to make the columns span the whole with of the table? After a lot of frustration, I decided to go ahead and post the information first and experiment with the table later. —Xanderer 18:46, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Safiyya bint Huyayy[edit]

As an Arabic linguist, your input on this article would be appreciated. There is currently a discussion going on with a few admins involved. The point of contention is whether she should be described as a concubine of Mohammad or not. Someone there wishes to propose that she she should be called a ma malakat aymanukum, which in my opinion is not right since there is no source of her being called that, and he story depicted in the very article says quite clearly she was a [[[concubine]].

Tad Dropped By[edit]

I was surfing through comments on the I-pedia article, and you were the only person I recognized, so I thought I'd say "hi"! If you get bored, swing by my blog and look around. Happy Xmas. PapaSmirk 01:50, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Bleedthedreampic.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bleedthedreampic.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:02, 7 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 04:02, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Margret Heater[edit]

AfD nomination of Margret Heater[edit]

I've nominated Margret Heater, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Margret Heater satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Margret Heater and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Margret Heater during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. RJASE1 23:41, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

It's not that I'm saying the band wasn't notable, it's just that it wasn't stated or sourced in the article. If you've got the sources, I'd be willing to support a deletion review. RJASE1 05:27, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
I will concede that this article still needed much work, but being that many of the sources I have were in hard copy or on non-existing sites (web sites die a slow death), I was trying to come back at it with more preparation before copyediting it to completion. The comment about it not being in the all music guide is subjective, as this was not a prevelent website at the height of the band's existance, even though it is said to have been around since 1991, as someone who has had her nose to the industry grindstone, It wasn't until of late that I have even used it. I do have the sources, not to mention it was linked to other articles that were in support of the article. They did win awards and I can link those as well. A simple this article needs more sourcing or citation or whatever banner would have sufficed. A delete banner was way too hasty. And I should know, I am an admin on several other wiki's and I really take in to all accounts of an article before I submit it for deletion. They still have their movie coming out this year in which the entire band was in the cast and on the soundtrack: Lobster movie and Baltimore City Paper review, for some examples. Also, the music montly archive in Baltimore has several articles, if I could get their permalinks, I would think that would also support my case.

Such as the one entry I have found here:

HFSTIVAL 2002 RFK Stadium May 25 & 26, 2002

Have you recovered? The bands! The DJ’s! The freaks! Except for Alien Ant Farm who got sidelined in Spain, we all turned out for DC’s Memorial Day weekend tradition of Full On Mayhem at RFK. Even Kelly Osbourne represented! Band lineup included Dashboard Confessional, Good Charlotte, Our Lady Peace, Trik Turner, Papa Roach, P.O.D., X-Ecutioners, Sev, Quarashi, B.R.M.C., N.E.R.D., Our Lady Peace, The Strokes, Sum 41, Hoobastank, Eminem, The Little Kingz, The Lloyd Dobler Effect, New Found Glory, Abandoned Pools, Loudermilk, Gob, Citizen Cope, The Vines, Goldfinger, Phantom Planet, Green Machine, Rezin, Rotoglow, Phaser, Moodroom, Lennex, UXB, Jepetto, Val Yumm, Swift Holly, Jah Works, Combination Lock, Fidel, Cactus Patch, Margret Heater and Imbue. The killer Buzz Tent lineup included DC Grammy Award-winners Deep Dish, Morel, Timo Maas, Sandra Collins, Dave Ralph, Starecase Sound System, Micro, Scott Henry, John Tab, William Dieter, Switchstance, Adegen, Jen Lasher, Simon, Miah, Sinestro, and the man who started the worldwide Rave movement, Paul Oakenfold, who closed both the Main Stage Saturday night and the Buzz Tent on Sunday. Here’s a scrapbook of a few highlights. See you there next year! MIM Papa Roach Q&A on Sunday: How do you like DC? Jacoby: “Last time we were here we did a free (WHFS) show at the Power Plant in Baltimore. DC rocks! They’re off the hook!” Comment on the darkness of your lyrics? Jacoby: “Yeah, definitely we’ve got a dark side to our music, but if I didn’t have my music to express my dark side, I would be that depressed all the time, so it’s really a good outlet. We don’t want to encourage anyone to do anything. It’s like, f### a hero, be yourself, just follow your dream.” What kind of fan feedback do you get? Jacoby: “I met these two girls from Scotland a couple days ago and they said they had our name tattooed on them and I was like, whoa, that’s strange, why’d you do that? It’s crazy because, you know, people between 15 and 25, it’s that period of trying to figure yourself out and attach to something. A lot of our songs deal with everyday life issues, so when you’re in that searching-for-something mode and you hear a song that’s about what you’re going through, you attach yourself to it.” Are there any artists who were a prototype for what you’re doing now? Dave: “Yeah, I have to say, talking about connectivity with lyrics, the first time I heard Pearl Jam’s ‘Alive,’ I was 13 and that was exactly my situation as far as not having a father figure, realizing it’s the person raising you, not the person who is biologically your father, that whole issue. That song meant a lot to me when I was a kid so I think if someone hears a Papa Roach song and feels the same thing, that would be cool.”

I find it very notable that Margret Heater once had Papa Roach open for them and now the members of both bands are still close.

Dave's accident[edit]

So I know this, but if you are going to edit and create an article for him, you need to cite correctly this information. I am not going to do it for you. I will have nothing to do with Dave, I cannot be biased.  immunity  talk  22:32, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Rockstar Lukas.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Rockstar Lukas.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 02:05, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
