Hi, I'm Isuru Kariyawasam from Sri Lanka. I'm a PhD candidate in Plant Taxonomy at the University of Edinburgh. I have earned my MSc in " Biodiversity and Taxonomy of Plants" from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh . I have a keen interest on the diversity and phylogeny of non flowering plants with a special emphasis on mosses (bryophytes). In addition to plant taxonomy, I am particularly engaging on higher education teaching and learning. I' m a fellow (FHEA) of the UK Advance Higher Education Academy and a Commonwealth Scholar . I am also interested in researching on the history of Sri Lankan music, with a special interest on the pre-movie era (1908-1946) gramophone music. Currently I'm working as a lecturer in Botany, in the Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka.
