User:Isutton is Imre Sutton, Professor Emeritus, Geography, Calif. State University, Fullerton. My academic training is in geography (Ph. D., UCLA, 1964), second field is anthropology and third is music. I also studied at Ohio State University. My research field focuses on land tenure, territoriality, and the political/legal geography of indigenous peoples, predominantly Native Americans. I have three books in print in the field, several edited symposia, and numerous articles. My field work has included Indian reservations throughout the West but also in other parts of the country. My teaching arena focused on conservation (for which I had other preparation in the Forest Service and National Park Service), environmental law, water resources, and natural hazards and planning. I taught at Ohio State, Appalachian State, Oregon State, and at Fullerton (1964-95). I am currently coediting a book, Mapping Native America, which is under review by a publisher (fall 2009). I am an amateur composer/pianist.
