Arthur R. Mann FAIA (June 28, 1877 – July 7, 1968) was an English-born American architect and engineer in practice in Hutchinson, Kansas from 1909 until his retirement in 1966.
Life and career[edit]
Arthur Robert Mann was born June 28, 1877 in Sheffield, England to George Mann and Eliza (Lingard) Mann. The family immigrated to the United States in 1879, settling in Kansas. They homesteaded first in Reno County and later in Stafford County. Mann was educated at the defunct Nickerson Normal College in Nickerson and at the University of Kansas, graduating from the latter in 1906 with a BS in engineering. He worked as an engineer for the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad until 1908, when he established an architecture and engineering practice in Hutchinson.
In 1910 the partnership was changed to Kelso, Mann & Gerow with the retirement of L. K. Kelso and the addition of Theodore M. Gerow.
